Page numbers when looking at blogs?

He has a lot of blogs and if you want to look at his very first one, or maybe skip ahead to somewhere in the middle, you'd have to go back one page at a time. However I was thinking maybe it could be made like a normal forum index

so if you want to skip to the very first post ever, you can (you'd have to enable all pages first of course) or if you want to skip to maybe 6 months back, you can do so with relative ease.

I suck at searching so if this has already been suggested (or if there's already a system I completely overlooked) then I apologize.
