Oh god i waited !
I waited, i refrained myself for posting and watched my post per day ratio plummet as i really wanted to have a meaningful 1K post. I lurked this website for many years during the BW days to watch VODs and started to post so much when the SC2 Beta was announced. I learned so much here that i really wanted to contribute in some way since a long time and finally it's all here : 4 Interviews with the Prime team
!
It was supposed to be only one interview with GerrardPrime (the manager and coach) but since i was at the team house i took this opportunity to interview some of the players that were there. Honestly i'm really unhappy with how the players interviews turned out, especially the one with Maru, and it breaks my heart because i am huge fan of his. This is entirely my fault because i was not prepared and it was my first time interviewing korean players, which is different from interviewing foreigner players.
I also forgot to take pictures of the Players while i was doing the interviews so it's really text only T__T
I hope you guys will enjoy this anyways, i also took pictures from the house but the website inven.co.kr passed a few days before me and has much better pictures than i could ever take (you can check them here). Still i'll upload mine to the facebook page later this week i think.

Q: Can you introduce yourself quickly ?
Hello, my name is Park Oi Shik, the Prime team manager. I used to be a StarCraft2 pro-gamer but now i am leading the Prime team since 3 years as a manager.
Q: Can you talk to me about your programing career ?
When i was 19, I started my career as a WarCraft3 pro-gamer. When i was 22 i switched to StarCraft 1 and joined Hanbit Stars. After my military service [NDLR:from 23 to 25 i think], i came back to Hanbit Stars as a coach.
When StarCraft2 was released i went back to being a pro-gamer for a while, and so i've been in this career all along.
Q: How come did you start your own pro-gaming team?
Some players (he mentions 이중원 Lee Hyung Joo[
![Zerg (Z)](https://tl.net/tlpd/images/Zicon_small.png)
![Protoss (P)](https://tl.net/tlpd/images/Picon_small.png)
Back then, I was thinking I'd have a little longer career as a pro-gamer, making Prime as the best team in the league in a first time, then taking the team and leading it as the manager in a second time. But when SC2 was released, a lot of new teams appeared, so I thought I'd take the lead a little earlier to get the team well-set.
Q: Prime is more that a pro team, it's also a very large clan. What are the relations between the clan and the pro team ?
Prime started as a clan with people who enjoy playing games together: Warcraft3, Starcraft 1 & 2.
We value the friendship and support among the members and we also enjoy doing lots of activities together from playing games to going on a picnic.
So I can say Prime Clan is a big part of Prime .
Q: Prime used to be one of the strongest - if not the strongest - team at the beginning of SC2. Since then there has been a lot of turn-over in the team, is there a reason why the team is not so stable ?
Yes, at the beginning of SC2, Prime was the strongest team with the best players,
but I think we're still a good team with a good chance competing other teams.
About the turn-overs, the problem is that Zerg has been strong and Terran has gone weak, and that led to a bad season for Prime because of our strong Terran line-up & our weak Zerg line-up.
But we're working on this problem to get fixed, so I'm positive we'll do it much better and become a strong team again.
Q: Prime just announced the recruitment of 4 new players : Surprise, eins, Chance and the return of AnnyeongPrime. Can he talk about each player and explain how he recruited them ?
![Zerg (Z)](https://tl.net/tlpd/images/Zicon_small.png)
ChancePrime : He's a new member in Prime , and well-known amateur Protoss player .
Others : They don't have official IDs yet , but they play Terran and Protoss.
We asked our own players to recommend some good and young amateur players.
So we tested them and had the conclusion they're capable and had potential to become pro-gamers.
Q: this GSTL season we only saw the same 4 players (ByuN, Maru, MarineKing and Creator), why was there only these 4 players playing this season ?
First of all, the 4 players are our best cards.
And as GSTL didn't really go as we hoped it would since we went on a loosing streak after all-killing azubu.
It was risky players that were not one of our 4 best players play.
If we were winning the league, we could've let the new members play and all, but we were desperate to win, so it seemed the best to let our 4 best players play.
Q: A lot of Prime fans are worried about the future of Prime, what would you say to them ?
Our team is actually having a financial issue at the moment, but even under the circumstance, our players keep on doing their best to play better and show a better result.
Since June, we're trying new things, and we'll do best to become a better team than ever before.
I know we haven't shown you good results lately, but if you patiently support us instead of worrying, I believe we can do it much better and show you good games.
- Short questions -
Q: Why did you choose the ID Gerrard ? Is it because you are a fan of Liverpool FC ?
This is an ID i choose when i was playing Ultima Online, it is after a Magic: The Gathering card
+ Show Spoiler +
[NDLR: i don't know anything about MTG but after some research it seems like he is more a character from MTG's lore that has several cards named after him, the people who helped me translate don't know anything about MTG so i guess it got a little bit lost in translation(...)]
Back then, i didn't even knew about the football player but once i choose this ID many people started to ask me about this football player.
Q: Favorite food ?
I love everything :D
Q: Favorite song/artist ?
I don't have any favorite as i am to busy for this.
Q: Favorite movie ?
I like every kind of movies except Horror movies and movies that are to cheesy.
I like some serious movies to !
Q: Are there any other game you enjoy to play besides Starcraft2 ?
I used to play Ultima Online and WoW [NDLR: not sure if he was referring to Wc3 or WoW here but since he played Ultima Online i guess it's safe to assume he tried WoW at some point] and all the video games I mentioned earlier[WC3 and MTG], but I mainly play SC2.
Q: What country would he like to visit in the future ?
Because of Blizard, I visited USA several times, China, and Taiwan,
but I've never been to European countries. So it'd be cool if I could visit UK, France, especially Paris.
Q: Any last word for the foreign fans and the Starcraft community ?
I really appreciate you all for your great support. I know Prime hasn't made much success on the league lately, but soon we'll show you much better games !
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/qr5GuoL.png)
![Terran (T)](https://tl.net/tlpd/images/Ticon_small.png)
Q: Please introduce yourself.
I am Cho Sung Choo, Terran player for the team Prime. I am 17 Years old[NDLR:This is Korean age, he is born in 1997]
Q: Do you still go to school or are you 100% committed to your pro-gaming career ?
I have taken a pause in my study and I am now focused on pro-gaming.
Q: You had very good results lately, what do you attribute this success to ?
I have been training much harder lately.
- ok so the next question ended up miss-translated, i originally wanted to ask him what are his strongest and weakest match-up but it ended up being translated as "What was the hardest match you did lately" and he answered that it was the Starleague (OSL Ro32). After insisting a bit and despite the reluctance of my translator noticing me that this kind of question should not be asked, he ended up saying that he thinks Protoss is really is strong -
Q: As a Terran player, how much does he love the Hellbat ?
I don't ecessarily love Hellbat, but he is really strong so I kind of have to use him. I don't like using units that feels a little bit overpowered.
Q: Do you prefer the OSL Format or the GSL Format ?
I prefer the GSL
Q: How was it playing in Yongsan for the first time ?
It was a little hard because I wasn't really used to it.
- another missed translation happened there, i wanted to asked MaruPrime if he watched Sarcraft1 but it was translated as "Do you still watch Starcraft 1 matches ?"...so he naturally answered "I don't think it exists any longer"... -____- -
Q: Are there any player you want to face in the next round(s) of OSL ?
I would like to face
![Terran (T)](https://tl.net/tlpd/images/Ticon_small.png)
![Terran (T)](https://tl.net/tlpd/images/Ticon_small.png)
Q: Are there any foreign tournaments you would like to attend ?
All of them, but I just never had a chance yet.
Q: Any words for his foreign fans ?
It's been pretty a long while since I became a pro-gamer, and I really appreciate all the support you have shown me ever since then.
I'll keep on doing my best !!
![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/qr5GuoL.png)
![Zerg (Z)](https://tl.net/tlpd/images/Zicon_small.png)
Q: Can you please introduce yourself ?
My name is Hak Seon Moon, my ID is AnyeongPrime and i am 27 years old.
Q: How does it feel to come back from retirement ?
I dropped out the team and retired from the league for personal reasons, but this is what I have always liked and so I thought I would give it another try.
Q: Prime's zerg line-up is kind of weak at the moment. Do you think Prime zergs can be competitive soon ?
I admit that we don't have many Zerg players in the team, but we have a very talented one, Jeon Ji Won, aka TerrOrPrime, even tho he doesn't have much experience yet.
As both he and I have been training hard, I believe that the Zerg line-up of Prime has a good chance to compete with other teams.
Q: How did you get into progaming ?
I started my career as a professional game player a little late, compared to other players.
I've been playing this game ever since i was young, and I've been always a big fan of the game and the pro-gamers, especially Sung Joon Park[
![Zerg (Z)](https://tl.net/tlpd/images/Zicon_small.png)
And then when I was about 20 years old, I was thinking maybe I should try to become one of them, as that's what I always liked and people would tell me I was actually good and capable.
Q: In the early days of SC2 July used to be a part of the Prime Clan, did you ever had the chance to play and/or talk with him ?
Sadly, no.
Q: How do you feel about Zerg compared to Terran and Protoss in the current metagame ?
Personally I believe there is a significant skill difference among the pro-gamers.
And I think it's hard to say something about the balance, unless you're an extremely high-level player.
- after talking a little bit more -
I do think that the mothership core is weird unit because you can only have one at any time in the game and it doesn't really feel very suited to Starcraft.
Q: Code A qualifier are coming soon ? Does he feels ready for the qualifier ?
Yes the qualifier are next week and i feel ready !
Q: Why did you choose this ID ?
Oh , there is no specific reason that I chose this name, but I just thought it could be a friendly and nice one.
Q: Favorite food ?
Korean foods, like 김치찌개 Kimchi Jjigae.
Q: Favorite song/artist ?
I like Ballads, but I don't have any specific musician that I am a fan of.
Q: Favorite movie/drama ?
I don't really watch TV, and I'm not big on movies either .
Q: Do you like any game besides Star2 ?
Pretty much only Starcraft 2, but maybe FIFA if I have to say something.
Q: What country would you like to visit in the near future ?
Germany as I think it's cool.
Q: Any words for the Starcraft community ?
I'll always do my best to gratify you all with good games.

BarbiePrime
Q: Please introduce yourself
Hello, I'm BarbiePrime, Lee Yoora.
Q: How long have you been playing Starcraft2 ?
I started playing Starcraft 2 since 1st January this year, so it's been about 6 months now.
- i tried to get her view on female pro-gaming but my translator had a hard time formulating my question as it was to broad. I guess i'll get another chance to talk more extensively about this topic with her another time as i think it is an interesting topic. So i fell back on the next question -
Q: Why did you choose to be a pro-gamer ?
I have known Gerrard personally for a long while, and so sometimes we would go to PC-bang and play Starcraft together.
Actually i've been playing Starcraft since Brood War was released, and he thought I had potential and was capable to become a pro-gamer so he asked me if I was interested in joining the team.
It took me 3 months to make my decision, and I finally started putting myself into this career since this year.
Q: How do you keep being motivated to train without any tournament in sight ?
Yes, it's true that there are no longer tournaments for female players in Korea,
but there are still a few of them abroad.
I'm preparing to make my debut game somewhere abroad and my team mates are helping me a lot.
Q: Do you think you can enter the Code A qualifier one day ?
As far as I know, there's no female player who got into Code A yet, but I'm training very hard to become a good player, so maybe one day.
Q: Do you have a good relationship with other korean female progamer ? Like do you chat or practice together ?
We don't practice nor chat often together, but I once had an interview with Kim Gayeong [
![Terran (T)](https://tl.net/tlpd/images/Ticon_small.png)
Q: If tomorrow there would be a tournament with Eve, Aphrodite and you, who do you think would win ?
Well , I think Aphrodite is the best player among all others, but as I'm training hard and all, I probably would win ?!
Q: Can you talk to us about the program you are doing on OnGameNet ?
It's a show called StimPack, It's a tutorial program that gives tips about how to play Protoss, like builds, strategy, etc... for each match-up. It mostly aimed towards new players.
+ Show Spoiler +
Some pics of the show that i've taken while it was aired during the downtime in the first couple of days of the WCS Season 1 finals :

I've been trying to find it online but only thing i could find yet was episode 1, it was playing non stop during the first few sc2 tournaments that OGN organized, it used to be very short but now i guess it's a longer show with guests :
Q: Should we expect more of that kind of content from you in the future ?
Yes , definitely. Apart from that program, I'm also doing some other contents in broadcasting, so you'll definitely see more of those in the future. Also the next StimPack show is going to feature me and MC so i think it will be a fun one !
Q: Favorite food ?
Anything with Kimchi.
Q: Favorite song/artist ?
I'm more into Korean music than some other pop music. Urban Zakapa is my favorite band.
Q: Favorite movie/drama ?
Titanic !!
Q: Other games you play ?
Winning. [NDLR: Winning Eleven = Pro Evolution Soccer in europe]
Q: What place would you like to visit in the future ?
Las Vegas, USA.
Q: If there was one unit you could remove from the game, which unit would it be ?
Infestor.
Q: Any last word ?
As soon as Prime team thinks I'm ready to make my debut, I'll show you all of you fans good games !!

Random thing about Prime:
- TerrOrPrime is actually very good, i watched him play a ladder game against TheStc that he won. He has amazing mechanics and was ranked around rank50 on Korean GM.
- Prime will have new jerseys soon, the reason the current one are not available for sale is because they don't have enough stock but i'm pretty sure they will have the new one available on primezzang once they receive them.
- When ByuNPrime sleeps his hair are almost Stephano-like.
- The Prime Clan is actually quite big, i attended a dinner in a restaurant after the GSTL game against Axiom-Acer and there was over 50 people. The average was actually quite higher that what i expected (i'd say over 25) and the man/women ratio pretty fair.
And that's it for today ! I hope you enjoyed those interviews, i am sorry about the quality of the interview with the players, i will make sure to be properly prepared for those next time. I think next time i will collect questions from the community and record a video as i have someone with video editing skills willing to help now, i just need to sort out a way to get decent recording hardware, just keep an eye on the facebook page if you have something to ask to any of the players.
