Update: Ok I've been informed that the prelim date will be moved to some unspecific, non-clashing time
Thanks to Robin for helping me find this!
It seems that it went almost entirely unnoticed at the time, but the April 16th WCS Format announcement states that the WCS-AM Challenger League qualifier is on the 27th of April. That also happens to the final day of DreamHack Stockholm.

There are a handful of players who are going to be playing in both tournaments, including HyuN, Jaedong, JYP, Center, and Zenio.
Due to the time zone difference between EU and NA it's probably technically possible for the players to do both in the same day, though it's not ideal conditions. But I wonder if there will be a reschedule on MLG's part to help accommodate for this clash?

If I were a player in both I'd be hesitant to attempt to participate in both considering how the premier league qualifiers went. If it finishes early enough; however, I'd imagine unless you make it to the semis/finals you will have cpu access and free time.

There probably should be a reschedule, but since Dreamhack's dates were known well in advance, I'll assume they knowingly scheduled it on top of DH due to a lack of time or whatever and said "deal with it".
Community will most likely be able to force a move if the cries are loud enough.

I don't think it's necessary to reschedule a North American qualifier around an event which doesn't actually feature any North Americans. For the Koreans playing in both, this is just an occupational hazard of going to all of these events.

I hate to wonder but do you think they did it on purpose?

I think they just wanted to get it done before the Premier division starts, which is on April 29, but I dont see the harm in delaying it for this conflict since it's not like the Challenger Division starts right away as well.

Is Hyun eligatible for play ? Wasn't he dq for both GSL and WCS NA.

The dates for Dreamhack have been known for a long time. Would be nice to hear from MLG about their motives for causing this scheduling conflict.

Well it would also affect incontrol who is hosting for dreamhack. I guess he could make it into challenger league potentially. How many spots will there be? 8? 16?

But since he already has a flight to Dreamhack and this date was sprung on him (and other players) before they made their region lock decision, he's pretty much forced to sit out an entire season making the road to Premier League even longer. The unfortunate souls who had their attendance at Dreamhack confirmed well in advance can't start earning real points until the final season just because they had to make a blind region choice since Blizzard decided to procrastinate in getting details out there.

If Blizzard cancels DH because MLG fucked up, knowing when DH was scheduled for months, that would be the biggest disaster of them all.

MLG will probably broadcast all the games from replay throughout the week anyways so the broadcast wont conflict with DH

anyone really surprised ?

Yeah, it's obviously a conspiracy to fuck DreamHack up. If anything, players are gonna prioritize DH, since they're already there.
