What to do if Mods incite mass bans.

NovaTheFeared United States7230 Posts October 20 2012 21:57 GMT #1 By making an obvious error in banning the "Han Sol" joke guy. When the posters point out that it the original poster shouldn't be banned, an avalanche of bans ensues. Who made the original ban, and why hasn't his error been corrected? The community clearly felt that the jokester was not in any way outside the community norms, evidenced by the sheer number of posts of disbelief in the bad moderation.

KwarK United States43660 Posts October 21 2012 03:34 GMT #4 It's also worth noting the original joke just received a warning which is pretty harmless and not worth devolving the thread into bitching about moderation. The guys who got banned did that anyway. Perhaps instead of misunderstanding the situation (which isn't hard to understand because at the bottom of the post you claim he was banned for it says "user was warned" and at the bottom of the posts bitching about moderation it says "user was banned") you could engage in a public education campaign about the website feedback forum. Then everybody would win.
