Howdy there and welcome to the top 50 streamers list thread for this month!

For those of you who don't already know what this is about: I'm gathering various data from all the streams that are presented on teamliquid.net (viewers, game, events, etc.) and use that data to produce the pretty tables you see below. The tables only contain SC2 players (that is, people streaming games of Starcraft 2 being played by themselves) and not casters, teams or other streams. The tables also only contain Starcraft 2 related activities, a SC2 streamer streaming Dota2 or other games is not being taken into account.

For current stream data, go and visit soiii's site http://sc2streamnumbers.com/ where you can check out detailed graphs of stream viewers of every stream. (Thread here). Please check it out, it's pretty awesome. I thought about doing something like that at some point, but soiii did it way better and prettier than I could've ever done.

Now, without further ado, here's this month's tables:
(The HTML versions contain some more information due to space reasons.)

Some stray observations:
  • Yes, yes, I know that Stephano has left Millenium. But his contract did not end until the 1st of this month, and the table shows data for last month, so all is in order. Besides, I'm curious to find out how many people are going to complain about this in the thread.
  • Unfortunately, ForGG's stream viewers were reported incorrectly to teamliquid for a couple of days, showing much lower viewer numbers than he actually had, so his actual average stats are better than what we can see here. Sorry, ForGG. :/ Despite this, he still managed to raise his average viewer count!
  • Another unfortunate issue is that the Korean FXO guys are streaming on YouTube, which does not give us any viewer numbers at all, so they won't appear on this list. Sorry, guys.
  • Some notable absentees for this month: Naniwa, MarineKing, MaNa, Squirtle, Bomber, Creator, Byun, July.
  • More generally, there's a notable absence of players of Korean teams streaming. DRG, Seed and Losira is the only player are the only players (thanks, Mozzery!) on a Korean team that made it on either list, everyone else is either teamless or on an international team. It might be that the Koreans found out that streaming is not as lucrative as they initially thought (it takes more than a big name to get good viewer numbers), or that they are worried about giving away their top player's strategies now that the Kespa players are starting to become seriously good at the game. Either way, we're running out of GSL players to watch.
  • "wayne379" is Hui, the Taiwanese player with the crazy amount of hours streamed. He has two stream accounts on TL.net for some reason.
  • If things go as expected, EG will thoroughly dominate the top 10 list next month. 3 players in the top 5 this month, maybe 4 out of 5 in the next?
  • If you find a player with the wrong team associated with him, let me know! It's getting harder and harder to keep that part of the database up to date. Also, if any streamer on the list isn't just playing games but also uses his stream for casting SC2 games, let me know as well. Someone mentioned in the last thread that ProTech is casting Korean games occasionally, but whenever I check he's playing 2v2s, so he's staying on the list for now.
That's all I can think of for now. Hope you guys enjoyed!

People like watching Zerg.

I like the viewers per hour chart, not sure if new, but never noticed it before.
It's an interesting way to look at how much entertainment an individual delivers through personal stream in a month.

Love the fact that Grubby is up there with the big players. He's really getting there also in terms of his play.
Awesome charts btw. Thanks for the great work!

Conti : since you're sitting on a load of statistics, is it true that stream viewers keep dropping constantly?

I think being Stephano gave Stephano quite the edge. He would be by far #1 no matter where he streamed from.

Of the Korean players on Korean teams you said DRG was the only one to make either list. I'm guessing you missed seed and Losira making 27th and 30th respectively on the average viewers list, unless due to sponsorship, LG IM is now considered a foreign team, if so my apologies. If you also meant only player to make BOTH lists my apologies as well, as those 2 only appeared on average viewer lists.

It seems like if you start streaming a lot, your average viewer count will deflate to a more steady number. Idra used to pull a metric ass-ton when he rarely streamed, and now that he streams more he has less on average (yet obviously he will still make more from simply streaming more.)
