Hey folks,
I want to introduce you to Campus Party 2012 in Berlin. Campus Party is a weeklong, 24-hours-a-day technology and gaming festival / LAN party for up to 10.000 “Campuseros” (hackers, developers, gamers and geeks) equipped with laptops and other hardware to camp on-site and immerse themselves in a truly unique environment. The event will take place on the 21st-26th of August in the former Airport Tempelhof in Berlin, Germany. You can come by to enjoy all provided content at the venue or just bring your computer and start playing all week with friends and people from all around the world.
Recognized as the biggest electronic entertainment event in the world, Campus Party unites the brightest young minds in technology and science under the idea that the “Internet is not a network of computers, it’s a network of people.”
The festival features over 600 hours of talks, debates, workshops, competitions and hackathons related to science, innovation, digital entertainment and creativity. In addition, there will be hundreds of hours of ad-hoc events planned by participants that continue throughout the night. Our main sponsor O2 will provide a 160 GBit/s internet connection for the event, which is about the same amount as the whole city of Berlin. Now let's get to the most important part of Campus Party: Gaming!
Campus party will run 6 tournaments for at least 4 different games with a total prize pool of 100.000$! The games that will be played are StarCraft 2, League of Legends, FIFA12, Street Fighter IV with both SC2 & LoL having a professional (25.000$) and a semi-professional (5.000$) tournament. Players and teams for the professional tournaments are not allowed to participate in the amateur tournament.
The StarCraft 2 tournament itself will be held on the 22nd-25th with the finals of all tournaments beeing played on Saturday.
Venue: Former Tempelhof Airport in the center of Berlin. Once the largest building in the world.

There will be 4 groups with 4 players in each group, with the top 2 advancing to the double elimination phase.

Qualifiers:
The offline qualifier will be on the Saturday, Aug 11 2:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00) at the CK-99 in Berlin
(english translation comming soon). The winner will get a spot in the professional tournament to compete alongside Europe's top notch players.
The online qualifier will be on the Thursday, Aug 09 5:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00) and will be done in cooperation with Playhem. There will be a thread for the qualifier soon with all needed information.
