I want to introduce you to Campus Party 2012 in Berlin. Campus Party is a weeklong, 24-hours-a-day technology and gaming festival / LAN party for up to 10.000 “Campuseros” (hackers, developers, gamers and geeks) equipped with laptops and other hardware to camp on-site and immerse themselves in a truly unique environment. The event will take place on the 21st-26th of August in the former Airport Tempelhof in Berlin, Germany. You can come by to enjoy all provided content at the venue or just bring your computer and start playing all week with friends and people from all around the world. Recognized as the biggest electronic entertainment event in the world, Campus Party unites the brightest young minds in technology and science under the idea that the “Internet is not a network of computers, it’s a network of people.” The festival features over 600 hours of talks, debates, workshops, competitions and hackathons related to science, innovation, digital entertainment and creativity. In addition, there will be hundreds of hours of ad-hoc events planned by participants that continue throughout the night. You can find out more information about the content at the Campus Party Website.

It's an e-mail address. :p
we will upadte the website in 1-2 days the amatuer tournament is BYOC
What a great event combining gaming, technology and science, thanks, Endrey! Hopefully I'll be there, I'm going to be travelling through Germany that time and hope to get a ticket for a day if I'm near Berlin :-)
The nongaming related parts seem much more interesting than the tourney itself imo. Would have loved to have known about this earlier to maybe fit it into ones schedule. Oh well, there's always next year. On a side note: Does anyone know what song it is in the teaser video?
Four already filled groups and you are still accepting players? Something does not add up. Either way, looking forward to the event. Sadly, I cannot watch it in full, but I'll definitely watch what I can.

Here's the schedule they have on their website for the Gaming Stadium, but I already know there have been changes since elfi said his matches are re-scheduled to start at 20:00, not at 16:00 like in the original schedule below.

Because Owned is better than Twitch. Stream is running fine for me, but they should add it to the event on the sidebar, so people would know about the stream.
It just seems like the tournament organizers don't want any viewers for this.
anyone knows whos providing that prizepool, with the LoL tournaments they are pumping out 60k but no sponsors nor mediapresence or anything, thats really odd

I could see Hasu loose against Alastor because he is struggling against Zerg lately but i think he has a good shot against Feast. Hasus PvP looked good lately and his micro is godlike like always. Feast wasn't looking in his best shape at IEM Cologne.
Btw I am interested how socke is looking today. His play in the last weeks where not as stellar as it used to be. Hope he does well.

Feast played pretty well in Cologne but his group was... you know. He was very impressive against NesTea and viOLet and could have beaten both of them.
In fact, his former best match-up (PvT) is actually his worst while he has really improved in PvZ which was his worst match-up.

Oh shit, Hasu won against both MC and ReaL there. xD Oh well, I'm gonna stick with my pick.

Former Warcraft 3 player from Spain. To my knowledge, he didn't achieve much in WC3, at least in the European scale. His id is quite funny and memorable however.
Is this tournament organized by the same guys that did that tournament where Total Biscuit was flown in and then the entire tournament had no sound at all? :D
On August 23 2012 02:52 Anta wrote: anyone think that this tournament has no production value except of kaeleris?
Well yeah, that's pretty obvious. But given the nature of the tournament it's understandable and not really a big deal. They have a respectable prize pool and roster, and not every organizer has the budget to spend on things which are, in all honesty, purely superficial.
That said, at least having a stable stream should still be a reasonable thing to expect. They should definitely look into that. =/

They should do a coinflip seing as Socke is the reigning coin flip DH champ
Yeah, and he beat Bischu at coinflips DH Winter 2010, on the other hand he doesn't have much luck when it comes to tiebreaker games. Anyone remember the epic tiebreaker series between Socke, Sjow and Squirtle at IEM World Championships?
I'm interested in seing how good viPro has become, beating Delphi 3-0 and Daisy 4-3 in the qualifiers is pretty promising.

They only had this thread. And just "Campus Party" doesn't attract people at all. Had they made a thread called "Campus Party $25000 on the line" in the tournament section I bet they would've easily gotten over 10k viewers.
awww Rasmus, just noticed that you qualified (if you ever read this^^). Totally missed this event and sadly don't have a chance to get to Berlin right now.
nice to have another SC-event at home, but I couldn't afford a ticket yet (around 120€) also heard from a friend who has won 2 tickets visitor/participant numbers are limited to 10k, so OP seems to not be accurate about this.
It's a pity that they only have 1 stage for gaming and SC2 has to share it with LoL. When I tried to watch some SC2 games they were showing LoL instead

Is it so? That would explain some of the downtime.

Yeah, I just had to watch Ret vs viPro in the caster screen of Kaelaris and Hasu :D There are a few of us standing behind their backs staring at the screen
Why didnt we get to see snute vs ret? Also why are they showing the same game on all three streams??? And with so much downtime atleast they should have put on a re-cast of snute vs ret or something... Does the person in charge play sc2???
Nice event so far, even if it's not as professional as we maybe used to. But nice cast by Kaelaris! Have to say, he improved so much lately! really like to listen to him.
