On 23rd February, the Military Manpower Administration confirmed that Guemchi has been accepted by Airforce ACE.
Having had few opportunities to play this season due to the Bo5 format, Guemchi decided to apply to ACE and he has passed the final evaluation. Since the beginning of February, he has been on vacation and is currently staying at home. He will enter the Airforce and begin 5 weeks of basic military training on 5th March. Guemchi will likely only make his appearance for ACE next season.
Former Woongjin player, Really, will enter the military to do his mandatory military service on 6th March.
Really announced his retirement in August 2011, having been drafted by Woongjin from Estro in October 2010. Since his retirement, Really has gone on holiday and has also acquired his driver's license. Although he declared his intention to enter the military last year, this was postponed due to a surgery to remove his wisdom teeth. Really is expected to visit the Woongjin Stars hostel again before he enters the military.
Sea was overheard at a fan-meeting saying that Shark will enter the military (not ACE) in April and Saint in September. This is just a fan account so it's not official news yet.
thats said, the new format is backfiring in every possible way, with BO5 without ace instead of BO5 with ace or BO7 nobody is getting playing slots in proleague and everyone is applying for ACE so that they can get playing time
before you know it u have shitloads of players entering ACE
I know BO5 couldn't be helped due to timeslot but BO5 without ace is worst compared to BO5 without ace because you can't test players out and rely on ace match to take it back (hint:KT) or have a dumb coach like hwaseung's coach sending killer every ace match during 10-11 season and losing it.
ace match also allows players with prepared builds to snipe players, like snow sniping flash with his fake allin ninja expo(i think it was an ace match, correct me if im wrong here) so newer players can actually come out unlike now where i THINK every coach has to decide beforehand who to send
He's always had so much potential, but he was never really comfortable playing on live TV so he was inconsistent. Then the whole retirement thing and resurgence, here's hoping he fucks shit up in proleague on ACE!
