Well, let's see....
Boxer left the IS team, soon after his loss to Reach in the OGN finals. Apparently his father was mad that the IS team couldn't acquire good protoss users for Boxer to practice against. Perhaps that's part of the reason. Anyway, Boxer is up for grabs now, it's said he's been contacted by various companies....
And....
Garimto announced he would retire :O! He said he would continue playing for the duration of next OGN starleague and the OGN war3 league. Apparently he has decided to set aside progaming for the new job he has gotten as a developer for a Korean game company. He will also stop doing announcing for iTV. I'll have to watch all of his OGN games now, it may be the last time I see him progame
Well, bad news or good news? I suppose Boxer's departure from IS could be considered a good thing and a bad thing... He'll still be an excellent player competing in various leagues..
As for Garimto, I really hate to see him go T_T. But if he can help make a good korean(unheard of!) game, it might be worth it in the long run
Information from PGR21.com, which took it from a Korean newspaper, Sports Chosun.
I hope mensrea can get more news on this :O!

hmmm... Isn't Nada on the same team? And he whipped Reach in KPGA.
Hope it doesn't cause him to lose his edge in TvZ. I think all the practice vs Yellow made him the strongest TvZ around.

IS Team: (Boxer) Nada, Yellow, IntoTheRainbow, Kos, Salmosa and probably some more that I can't think of right now.
I doubt this will influence Boxers game that much.. Everyone is willing to play him anyway.

Koreans take this stuff too seriously GARIMTO leaving, that's bad news... too small amount of good toss pros in korea. Hope Naz will replace him
Boxer leaving )Is( might affect his game somehow since [if i got it right] players of the same team play in some kinda offices for daywork? He won't be able to practice with them all the time. In the other hand, there probably are many other influentical teams who will get Boxer good adversaries [Hanbitsoft maybe?] We'll see. Hope to get more info on this

Here's some stuff I found out:
- IS team's failure to provide Lim with competent practice partners may have just been the "straw that broke the camel's back." Apparently, there had been some tension between Lim's family and IS since last June, when Lim's father held IS responsible for Lim's uncharacteristically poor form due to the tight packing of his schedule (TV appearances, radio, movies, etc...). Tensions rose again recently because the father felt that Lim wasn't getting a fair cut of his earnings commensurate with his star status.
- Garimto will be going to work for a KOSDAQ-listed Korean game developer called "Taff Systems."
- Korean TV and news sources estimated the crowd at the Saturday final at 20,000. OGN had estimated 15,000. Whatever: it's a lot.
- A Korean newspaper polled 4 pro gamers prior to the game (separate from the OGN poll) about their thoughts on the final: Sync, V_Gundam, ElkY and Jinnam. All of them predicted a win by Reach. Gundam correctly guessed the final match score at 3-1. But Sync (who guessed 3-2) made an amazingly prescient analysis of the reasons why:
Gaema Gowon: "Mass strats all the way." Neo Vertigo: "Terran (Lim) will have the strategic advantage." Neo Forbidden Zone: "Tough for Lim because of the difficulties establishing the natural."
All of the pros polled here also predicted a Reach win on Neo Bifrost, citing that the match would likely turn on resource-gathering. Hey, they're not pros for nothing.

re: Reach "mass strats" > Boxer. that's how Boxer usually seems to lose in replays I have seen. he gets out expoed 2:1, and gets overwhelmed. in thinking back, I think Boxer's fast-expo is what killed him, it gave reach the time needed to gear up his war machine and economy.
