EVIL GENIUSES’ STARCRAFT II TEAM SEES DEPARTURE OF NICK “AXSLAV” RANISH
AND CONG “STRIFECRO” SHU
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA. – January 18th, 2012. – Today Evil Geniuses (EG), North America’s premier professional gaming team and a world leader in e-Sports, announce the departure of both Nick “Axslav” Ranish and Cong “StrifeCro” Shu from the team’s StarCraft II division.
Both Nick and Cong were first invited to join Evil Geniuses in 2010 as one of the world’s leading two-vs.-two teams from WarCraft III. Their immense game knowledge and thick chemistry transferred over into StarCraft II with immediate success as the pair quickly dominated the first Machinima Realm Invitational.
Shortly thereafter, the two were brought into the EG training house in Phoenix, Arizona, to begin full-time and independent careers in StarCraft II. While Nick and Cong both improved significantly over the course of 2010 and 2011, having achieved qualified berths at major events such as ESWC and Intel Extreme Masters, and the team is grateful for their contributions over this period of time, Evil Geniuses ultimately decided as a team and company to part ways with both players.
Cody “evoli” Conners, General Manager of Evil Geniuses, commented, “Nick and Cong are hardworking, driven players and both are close to everyone in the organization. It is with a heavy heart that we have to see them go, but we’ll be wishing them the best in the future.”
Evil Geniuses would like to thank Nick and Cong for the time they’ve spent on the team, and we wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors.
With these changes, be sure to keep your eyes glued to both the team’s Facebook and Twitter for the latest updates from Evil Geniuses.
