Oh... where to start...
First off I would like to introduce myself, my name is Collin and im 17.
I picked up my stacraft two beta key back in 2009ish when gamestop had there deal going on. I played the shit out of beta. I soon became huge fanboy of sc2, watching every video about pro matches, learning new strats and everthing. I've been like this for everyday since.
But something happened....
I found Brood War....
I will never be able to describe my feelings, because honestly I can't even think of words that would work. All i know is that I love brood war more than any other game of my life, and I'm honestly regretting myself for not finding out how f'cking awesome BW is until now...
I wish i could go back in time, back to the year 2000, where the scene got big, and just watch as much BW was possible.... Just in the few games I have watched, and the stories Ive heard, sc2 will never be as rich, and diverse as BW. There is so much history behind brood war its insane..
I wish life had a reset button thats how bad its gotten..........
But to the point, I know very little about brood war, and I need your help. Is there such a place where i can catch up on all the OSL's/MSL's from the past few years? How can i watch the OSL's/MSL's from this year/current season?
I pretty much just need to know where i can go to make up for all those wasted years and to get into brood war like I should of on day one...
If you have any i should know/ need to know please tell me... Thanks for your time.

Your post warms my heart Welcome to the BW community!
Anyways, you should check out nevake channel. There are A LOT of VODs there. I'll include more resources in this post when I remember them.
Edit: - If you don't understand completely how the leagues work in BW, Teamliquid made an awesome Progaming FAQ, where all questions could be answered. It may be a bit outdated, but still holds very valuable information for any beginners wanting to learn about Progaming: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=75553
- If you're still relatively new to the BW progaming and didn't get used to the Korean commentators just yet, I suggest starting out with GomTV Leagues: http://www.gomtv.net/league/index.gom (they're casted in English by Tasteless).
- For all Proleague finals, consult this post: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=254066
- For all OSL and MSL finals, see this two posts: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=116383 http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=130105
Those torrents are probably unseeded now, but if you bump those topics asking for people to seed, I'm pretty sure few of them will. Also, please note that these are only videos of the FINALS. What makes watching OSL and MSL hundred times more epic is when you watch the whole tournament. Over time, you find player(s) whose style you like and you become emotionally invested in watching it, making the whole experience much more epic. My suggestion would be to find some OSL/MSL in TLPD and then watch all games from that tournament. You can see which games have VODs linked to them by little yellow plus sign next to them in game list, so make sure to find some that have most of the VODs.
Anyways, that would be all from me I think. Enjoy and have fun!

To watch BroodWar professionally in its entirety, go to moktira's channel. Nevake also is the first person to have the last OSL uploaded. The replay database at GosuGamers for foreigners is extensive, while the one here at TeamLiquid has an amazing amount of high quality games primarily from Koreans and the upper echelon of foreigners.
As far as playing goes, if you are a newbie, the best place for you to go is iCCup. The server itself has been dying a lot in the past year after some management mishaps, but overall can aid you in your every need as a newbie. Once you get your skills up, USWest and all Korean servers like Fish and BrainClan are very good.
For entertainment value, I recommend Sayle's stream since it is the most active, entertaining, and interactive friendly. He also is the caster for every sponsored tournament. For entertainment in VODs, check out NukeTheStars. Otherwise, the TeamLiquid stream list is impeccable, as all of the current BW streamers/casters are on here, so you just have to catch them while they are online.
If I think of anything more productive for you, being that it's roughly 6am for me right now, I'll edit this tomorrow.

Hey and really nice post, welcome to the BW community, I know how you feel, I wish I could restart and go back to 2000 just to relive all the moments, thats how good BW was and still is! But yes, 2pacalypse- is right...Nevake has a nice channel where you can learn a lot just by watching for hours, enjoy your stay and don't hesitate to ask for help or ask any question no matter how "newb" of a question you think it is XD.
Really nice post though, I wish more SC2 players could be like you! ^_^

Hey man, I have been making some video guides for people switching from SC2 in this thread, and i will be making more whenever I can. Hope these can help a little.

Hi. JinAir OSL was the last OSL so far. There is always a thread like this: link ad one of its section is "History" where you can find all previous OSLs. If you click on any of them, there will be some general information and matches and vods.

Thank you everyone!! SO MUCH BW!!!!! <3<3

I watched all OSL finals and that helped me a lot to come to terms with much of the BW history I've missed. These are like eras, and you can see how the game evolves.

Play whatever race you like. Maybe choose the same race that you used in sc2.
