Can a mod please change the thread's title to "One Group, One goal, Together to the top"
Quick update : Since it might take some time for me to get the website up and a lot of you have been asking for something right now, simply use the chat channels called
group
group1
group2...
Use them to connect with eachother and feel free to use any ventrilo servers listed below or any others you can find.
Update: I feel like I owe everyone an apology. I promised to provide a service but I had no idea what I was getting into. I have spent the last two days putting all my thoughts on paper and brainstorming. I completely neglected the e-mails.
This community is amazing. I came home from work today and decided to take a look at my inbox.
I opened up excel and started copying all the details players gave me. A whole lot of you wrote me huge essays that made me realize how motivated and awesome you people are.
I will have to stop accepting e-mails for the simple reason that I have decided to make this project my life for the next month or so.
I copied around 3/4 of the e-mails, and I have organized most of these players into groups which are available below in the spoiler.
I'd like to thank everyone for giving such positive feedback and writing those e-mails. Even if you don't support my project or you feel like going off and doing your own thing, I still encourage you to make progress in this game with other players and help each other out. Most importantly, I hope you continue to support e-Sports and have a great time playing games.
I'm going to spend every dollar I have on this website in order for it to be flawless when it is released.
I can't explain exactly what the website will do, all I can say is connecting with others will never have been easier.
See you all in 3 weeks-2 months, hope this works out.

If you sent me an e-mail before I stopped taking them, you will find yourself in one of the groups below. Ignore the random ventrilo server names, they are not my own, I got them from a list of public servers.
I have assigned each group a ventrilo server you can use, but feel free to use any other method of communication, such as skype, although I don't think you can have more than 5 people in a call on skype. Teamspeak is another alternative.
The ventrilo servers are listed as Hostname : Port
If you don't know how to set up or use ventrilo, here is a link to a tutorial right here on TL.net

Playing Starcraft II can be boring when you have no one to discuss the game with. Teams have so much success because they have structure. Someone can go weeks and weeks without improving if they have no goals or are just bored and decide to play 4v4/2v2 instead of grinding 1v1's. Ladder can be stressful and annoying when you are on your own and you are spending hours looking at your replays trying to figure out what went wrong.
What a lot of people are missing is the structure that comes with being with other players. This game is obviously played on the computer, which opens a lot of doors compared to the console gamers.
Before I was a Starcraft player, I was a Halo/CoD player. On consoles, it was fairly difficult to connect with others in order to form a team and practice together because there was simply no way for us to communicate if we didn't have access to a computer all the time. I was on a team once where we exchanged phone numbers because of how ridiculous it got.
I say all this because I feel like a lot of players, casual or competitive, are not getting the most out of their gaming experience. We need to come together and talk about strategy. We need to get structure and we need to make a plan and stick to it.
I understand most of us work or go to school and don't always have time to scan around the forums looking for the next build order they are going to try. 60% of my computer time is used watching starcraft streams or looking at threads about Starcraft, but I can never find anyone to talk with about it. Day9 has touched on the idea of gaming as a group on many of his dailies and I think many people are missing out on this.
What I'm suggesting is that we form several practice groups. The goal of these groups would be for everyone to all improve at the same time and bounce ideas off each other. I would call this a team, but since we aren't aiming to compete any time soon, it is more like a group of friends trying to get better and reach their goals. I know there have been countless threads with an idea similar to this one, but I think its time for starcraft players from all over to form groups and turn this whole community into skilled starcraft players.
We need to get players out of bronze, silver, gold, platinum and diamond and flood the masters league with all kinds of different players, or simply help each other reach our goals in the game. This is how starcraft will change and get better. We need to get together and get better instead of giving up. I know there are some of you who take breaks often because you simply have no more motivation to ladder and get better.
To fix this problem which I've had countless times, I'm going to invite all players to send me an e-mail so that I can organize everything and get everyone assigned to a group to practice together/talk about strategy.
I want to incorporate some sort of reward system in the future that involves these groups of people reaching their goals together and put a spotlight on how much fun these groups can have if they get organized and have a lot of interests in common.
I'm not saying nobody can reach their goals without support from other people, but it is simply not as enjoyable to grind alone and end up at the top with nobody there that you know and that you can talk with.
