After quite disappointing results in the frist matches for SlayerS, it looked like they had no chance to advance to the play-offs. However, after recent results of Week 8 it seems that they still have a chance.
+ Show Spoiler + With TSL and MVP secured their spots in play-offs for the Jupiter group, now its all about the 3rd place. The current standings in the run for the 3rd place after week 8 are: oGsTL: 1-2 (-3 sets) FUnited: 1-2 (-4) SlayerS: 1-3 (-1) Prime: 1-3 (-5)
The remaining games are for these teams are all against each other: Week 9: FUnited vs Prime, oGsTL vs SlayerS Week 10: FUnited vs oGsTL
So, unless FUnited beats both Prime and oGSTL, and assuming that SlayerS will take over oGsTL, there will be a tie for 3 teams for the 3rd position. And SlayerS seems to be a favorite to advance because of their best set win-loss ratio: even if they beat oGsTL only 4-3, they will have 0. Prime will have at most -1, if the 4-0 FUnited. oGsTL will have at most 0, if they 4-0 FUnited FUnited needs to win both games. If they beat only one team, they will have at most -1
So the short summary: FUnited needs to win both games to advance (+they still have a chance for the 2nd place if MVP will loose to TSL); SlayerS needs to win over oGsTL, preferably 4-2 or better and hope that FUnited will not win both games; oGsTL needs to win over SlayerS, and most likely over FUnited too to advance; Prime needs to 4-0 FUnited, and hope that SlayerS will lose to oGsTL, and oGsTL will loose to FUnited;

GSTL's turning into a pretty epic playoff situation. Wrong section though I hope the mods just move it somewhere else.

Thanks for doing all the math for me. I was wondering about these things after the last set of games were played. Still thou, I'm cheering for F.United even thou my heart belongs with SlayerS.
BTW, a bit out of topic, but why we haven't seen much of Min lately ?

i still can't even understand how they managed to go 0-3 to start

I hate to be a hater but F.United winning both their upcoming matches is unlikely. If they do I will truly be humbled in my knowledge of SC2 teams but.. I just don't see that happening.
SlayerS has a real chance of advancing but their biggest opposition to that, oGsTL is going to have something prepared to stop it. There won't be a flub lineup for as important of a match. But F.United and SlayerS will be there with the same mentality. What am I saying exactly?
That we're in for ONE HELL OF A ENDING! I love this IM 화이팅

Prime can still advance, but they'd need to 4-0 basically, then hope for close losses for the other two teams.

Yes, given the unlikeliness of FUnited winning both matches against oGsTL and Prime, basically SlayerS fate is their own hands. And thats what they need. If they beat oGsTL, they will most likely advance. If they loose.. well, then they'll be 1-4, and not-advancing would be a deserved result.

Nice summary, but I think FUnited only needs to win against OGSTL 4-2 or better in order to advance. As long as OGSTL wins vs Slayers, anyway.
If FUnited defeats OGSTL 4-2 or better, then FUnited will be 2-2 with 11-13 set losses. OGSTL will be 1-3 with 15 set losses.
Then if OGSTL defeats Slayers, then they'll finish 2-3 with 15-18 set losses. Thats not enough to advance over FUnited because FUnited won the head-to-head. Even if FUnited loses to Prime 4-0.
Or course if Slayers defeats OGSTL they will finish 2-3 with 12-15 losses. The only way FUnited can top that is to win both of their matches.
So a more accurate representation: Slayers advances if they win vs OGSTL and FUnited loses against either Prime or OGSTL. FUnited advances if they defeat OGSTL and OGSTL defeats Slayers, or if FUnited also wins their match against Prime. OGSTL advances if they win vs Slayers and they also either win vs FUnited or lose to FUnited 4-2 or better. Prime needs a perfect storm of 4-0s to happen in order to advance.
So for teams chances of advancing, I'd say its 1. Slayers 2. FUnited 3. OGSTL 4. Prime.
