Spain Super Cup 2nd leg 14 August, 2011: Real Madrid 2-2 Barcelona FC 17 August, 2011: Barcelona FC vs Real Madrid
My expert prediction: Barcelona 1-1 Real Madrid; Barcelona win on away goal rule
New season, teams reshuffling, tons of transfers, renewed enthusiasm, but who are going to be the big winners and who are going to be the big losers?
Last season Manchester United won the title and Chelsea and Arsenal didn’t prove to be the toughest of opponents. Who will win it this season?
Here are the top clubs going into the next season: Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham.
City is looking especially strong with the purchase of Aguero and United have bought nicely as well with Chelsea and Arsenal trailing in the reinforcements. Arsenal especially are hoping not to loose their main players Fabregas and Nasri. Chelsea have failed to bring in some fresh blood and are still the oldest side.

Last season Barcelona won the title and while Real Madrid provided some challenge it was a clean swoop for Barcelona. The best from the rest was Valencia finishing 3rd. Will this season be more competition with the big two and who will win the title?
Here are the top clubs going into next season: Barcelona, Real Madrid, Valencia CF, Malaga CF, Sevilla, Atletico Madrid.
Barcelona has strengthened quite well, not too much new signings, keeping the core team, Real Madrid has strengthened significantly though and Valencia CF has offloaded a lot of dead wood and brought in some much needed youth and motivation to the squad. Malaga has been the big spenders with some great signings and is looking to place right into the top 6.

Last season AC Milan won the title with little challenge from anyone. Inter started the season slowly with a new coach Benitez after Mourinho left and started falling down, then Leonardo took over and even though he had a good run it wasn’t enough to challenge Milan. Lazio, Udinese and Roma were the surprises each one in its own way. Napoli also had a breakthrough season and finished 3rd, while Juventus were disappointing once again and finished only 7th place.
Here are the top clubs going into next season: AC Milan, Inter, Roma, Juventus, Napoli and Lazio.
Juventus have once again rebuild their squad, just like the previous season, Milan have made some good business, Inter have once again been stagnant, though they signed some of their loans, Roma with a new owner have spent a bit and brought some decent reinforcements, Napoli and Udinese well they’ve done good business making profits and Lazio have done modestly well with limited budget.

Spain U19 won the European championship, they beat Czech Republic 3-2 with 2 goals from Paco in extra time to give Spain the victory.

Without Fabregas

NOOOOOOOOO, just found out Vucinic has gone to Juve. Damn it all, I loved that guy. He has always been inconsistent, but when he brings his a-game (which he usually did in big games, like vs Real Madrid, Chelsea, Inter, Milan, Lazio) he's absolutely flabbergastingly good. It's a shame that he now joins up with the dark side.

No prob, you got Stekelenburg so your goals against are gonna be minimal upcoming season.

Arsenal shall finally shine. /sagenod Even though Fabregas wants to go to Barca, I really doubt he'd get much playing time in the starting 11 tbh (as time goes on anyway). Hopefully Nasri stays.

That's indeed a pretty good transfer, especially when you consider the price.
I'm still sad about Vuci though, I really liked him.

I think this season will look much like the last one, with the same teams dominating. I don't know if ManU signed anyone important yet, but Fergie did say he wants to strengthen the squad significantly after last seasons CL final thrashing. Chelsea would be their main rival for the EPL, but with their aging squad, and Abramovic not showing the proactive interest in the team like in the old days, i think it will go to ManU uncontested. Hopefully i will be surprised.
Barcelona will continue to be the best team in the world with Real Madrid a relative close second.
AC Milan also has a very good squad (i'm guessing they will buy Ibra) and should be superior to the Mourinho'less Inter.
Bayern was a major dissapointment last year, i can't really explain it, seeing how their coach and squad are top notch. Hopefully they get their shit together, especially Ribery, and own this Bundesliga.
That's my 2 cents.

F.C.Porto Ftw once again :p
|
Liverpool FC are hopefully going to win. King Kenny can't let Scumchester have more league titles than LFC. Suarez will be the player of the season in PL.
|
I have high hopes for Liverpool too. Just hoping for a top 3 finish really, would be great progress from the last couple of seasons. They have a great manager who loves the club now so things will be different
|
Best of luck to Liverpool i like the team , Is always MU or Chelsea :p

I hope Chelsea can take the title this season under Villas-Boas. Everyone's making the criticism that the Chelsea squad is old and what not, but many of their players show no signs of letting up. While admittedly Lampard, Anelka, and Ferreira are slowing down, many of the other 'old' players are not (oh and Essien is injured/not his best). Drogba still looks imperious as ever (maybe because of his later start into professional football?) during this preseason run and many of the younger players have staked their claims as well. Kalou performed well last season despite being more of a bit-part player behind Anelka and Torres.
What killed us last season wasn't that we were lacking quality - it was due to an inexplicable loss of form mid-season. McEachran, Sturridge, Kakuta, Bertrand/Van Aanholt can hopefully get more run-outs against weaker Premier League teams this season. Maybe that will help rest some of the older players for more important matches.
Of course, Torres getting back into scoring form would help (he did score in the preseason) and Benayoun's return from injury will definitely help as well. And if we could get Modric that would help immensely too. Last season, we were competitive all the way until the 3rd week before the end of the season despite our weakened state, so hopefully, Villas Boas can turn that around.
Oh, and Obi Mikel had better step up this season. With Essien injured, he needs to do a tidier job as the holding midfielder.
