As for liverpool, I think they are massively over-ratted, only Suarez and pepe are their only world class players, Gerrard is past it. And torres was better than Suarez is now and Gerrard was playing better back then and he couldn't carry the team. Also King Kenny is also over-ratted insanely as a manager, he's been out of the game for so many years, and his only PL win was when Cantona was banned. Just look at their pre-season, i think anyone who thinks they are going to finish top 4, let alone higher, is either a Liverpool fan or someone who has got it very wrong imho.
Torres being better than Suarez?Suarez is looking insanely good, MVP and winner of Copa America and he was the best player on the pitch every game he played last season. It took Torres 900+ minutes to even score for Chelsea.
And King Kenny brings so much to the team outside of the tactical decisions and he knows the club and the academy inside out. They still need a couple more reinforcements to get top 4 though.
No no, his point was that Torres at his prime was equivalent if not better than how Suarez is playing at the moment. Plus Gerrard can't play as well at the moment and they have lost their top class players in Alonso, Mascherano, and Arbeloa which means that they will struggle. Charlie Adam / Raul Mereleles / Lucas / Aquilani / Henderson / whoever else can't meet the quality of those players meaning that Liverpool have lost much of their luster. Of course, other teams have diminished in quality, but not as drastically.
Yeah and my point is that Suarez is at his prime and he's as good as Torres was and much better than he is. I agree about Gerrard and I kinda agree with the rest. I'll give Downing, Adam, Aqui and Henderson a chance to really impress me though.

I'm sorry but im calling bullshit on this. Suarez is very promising and looking brilliant but hes no Torres on form at the moment, and certainly isn't better than him, thats laughable. Torres was arguably the best player in the world and certainly the best striker in the world. Suarez isn't even the best striker in the PL, tevez, drogba(in seasons past) berba and rooney are all better.
Torres in his prime was better than suarez. The problem with Torres is that he played way to many games in 1 year for both club and national teams. He would play while injured all the time too. I think suarez plays less for the national team which will benefit him in the long run (although it's probably going to start very soon).
Also, I hope Fabregas stays. He's worth much more than what Barcelona want to pay for him and Arsenal are in a position to say "no we don't want to sell you" although i think he made it clear to wenger he wanted to be sold to Barcelona. The thing is, he can't go public and ask for a transfer, because that would mean that Arsenal are allowed to sell him to the highest bidder which would probably around 50-55M pounds easily in this inflated transfer window.
I'm a big Arsenal fan and I hope they win the title obviously, but it will depend on a few signings that don't seem to be occuring. Arsenal need to get a CB, possibly a striker (why? gervinho and chamakh go to the African Nations Cup in January along with Song) and maybe 1 other signing I don't know where though ... maybe a veteran DM.
IF they do that, they can get top 3, and fight for top spot. If not, they will get top 4. My predictions are:
EPL: 1- Arsenal 2- Man City 3- Man United 4- Chelsea 5- Liverpool 6- Shit erm Spurs (sorry haters gotta be hating ... you know )
That's not really what I think will happen but I hope it does. Honestly I would see this happening: 1-Man City 2-Chelsea 3-Man United 4-Arsenal 5-Liverpool 6-Spurs/sunderland
As for la liga: 1-Real Madrid 2-Barcelona 3- who cares the'll probably be 15 pts behind anyways
I think la liga will be boring when RM and Barca play weaker teams as usual and the 2 classicos will determine the winner. At the same time, it will be harder for Barcelona this year. I think last year they were lucky they didn't get many injuries. I mean they had most of their starting XI for the full year. RM won't have a problem with that because the're built for toughness.
I think this year more than ever, it will be a year where these 2 leagues will be a wars of attrition. It's a given in the EPL where a lot of bad tackling is giving the green light, but I think this year in particular, the same problem will happen in la liga and the Champions League.
cuz of a pre season friendly? gosh :o who did barca lose to in a friendly a few days ago? was someone who they certainly should have beaten, but i don't think their going to finish 6th in the league either. your logic is very flawed sir.
People put way too much stock into pre-season lol.

It's not 'bad tackling', bad tackles get fouls. It's hard tackles. If the ball is won then its a fair challenge. Not like in la liga or CL when sometimes you can get the ball and still it is judged as a foul. Madness. People keep calling the PL Rugby without actually watching and seeing that good defending gets rewarded instead of punished.

If Xavi and Iniesta stay healthy I think he will be in the bench for a while but, it depends when someone gets hurt he will step in if he goes to Barça,
Anyways I hope Barça wins La Liga again, maybe Champions also :D, I hope Chelsea doesn't have the big fall they had in the middle of the season, so that they can have a bigger chance at the tittle, also this is the year Mou has to win it all with Real Madrid, if not I think we will see him with another club next season.

Torres and Suarez are different types of forwards. Torres has a better finish but Suarez is better at distributing with his creativity. But I agree that Torres in his prime >> Suarez.
As for the initial comment, Liverpool just need to figure out a way to incorporate all their new signings. The preseason will obviously have failures but if they figure everything out, they definitely have more than enough talent to break the top 4.

No team in all of football history has ever lucked out on new talent like bvb.
True in some aspects. But they got some of their players from other teams which didnt recognize the talent.
And Dortmund is already dominating its first game again. They really look incredible for such a young team. If they were playing in england, italy or spain, some of their players could be worth 20+ millions easily. I really get enthusiastic when thinking about the future of our national team.
