The questions are: Can city's big spendings actually make a difference and gel, because they have a VERY strong team on paper now. Can man u's younger players step up this season?, with david de gea, the twins and cleverly and Anderson in midfield (hopefully they will sign sneijderr). Also will thier midfeild be good enough? And lastly will villa boas get Chelsea playing to their former glory? Personally i think united will pip it, with city very close behind, and look something like this: Man u City Chelsea Tottenham Arsenal liverpool I think if arsenal loose narsi and fab, they will probs end up below spurs, otherwise 4th is probally theirs. As for liverpool, I think they are massively over-ratted, only Suarez and pepe are their only world class players, Gerrard is past it. And torres was better than Suarez is now and Gerrard was playing better back then and he couldn't carry the team. Also King Kenny is also over-ratted insanely as a manager, he's been out of the game for so many years, and his only PL win was when Cantona was banned. Just look at their pre-season, i think anyone who thinks they are going to finish top 4, let alone higher, is either a Liverpool fan or someone who has got it very wrong imho. Preseason doesn't have too much meaning. Teams have done way worse and gone on to win the league. But I agree that so far Liverpool seems a bit out of their depth. The telling story will be when they face Valencia in 10 days or so. Valencia has been doing great in preseason winning 4 of their 5 matches.

Heard it here first. i went to see them play boca juniors, they just did what they're renowned for these days. they went ahead, starting messing around and being arrogant, and then their opposition came back from 2-0 down. they have serious attitude issues to sort if they're going to win...

I am a Liverpool fan yes, but stats don't lie. Since Kenny joined Liverpool in January, the only team to get more points than 'pool were Man United. The thing is his passion and love for the club has put a smile on players and fans faces and the lift in morale was a huge influence in the season being somewhat decent. Also, Liverpool aren't in Europe next season, meaning less games. I think a little bit of tweaking to the squad and a top 4 finish isn't at all out of the question.

I'm not sure I want to follow the Geordy downfall, it's gonna be depressing :/ Yeah - whats going on with Newcastle this preseason? Getting rid of Nolan and Barton look like really really poor choices given that no replacements have come on (nor have any come for Carroll). I've also heard that Enrique might be leaving as well which would really be bad for the club. I don't know what the upper club management is doing, and it looks like the team will struggle next season. As per Liverpool, I think their chances of getting into the top 4 are quite slim. Besides Suarez and Reina, they are lacking in top quality players (no matter how many midfielders they sign). Even during the season when they had Alonso, Mascherano, and Arbeloa and played brilliantly that season, they couldn't win the title. I definitely do not think that Henderson, Downing, and Adam are capable of pushing the club too far above where it was last season.

Caroll will probably prove a bit of a dud, but if they can keep Gerrard fit I think they'll be very competitive. I can't see Arsenal or Spurs finishing in the top 4 this season. I think Sunderland will be top 4 before Liverpool this season. 1. United 2. Chelsea 3. Arsenal 4. Sunderland 5. City 6. Liverpool 7. Tottenham

Man city or Arsenal for top spot and Man utd for third. Thats if they dont sign sneijder. If they do then its 3 horse race. Hopefully Arsenal signs Cahill and Mata then i will be a happy camper! Anyway, Who's enjoying Barca's youth sucking it up against chivas? Whoa there now. Chelsea's squad is better than Arsenals so I dunno what you are basing this on.

Torres being better than Suarez?Suarez is looking insanely good, MVP and winner of Copa America and he was the best player on the pitch every game he played last season. It took Torres 900+ minutes to even score for Chelsea. And King Kenny brings so much to the team outside of the tactical decisions and he knows the club and the academy inside out. They still need a couple more reinforcements to get top 4 though.

Plus Gerrard can't play as well at the moment and they have lost their top class players in Alonso, Mascherano, and Arbeloa which means that they will struggle. Charlie Adam / Raul Mereleles / Lucas / Aquilani / Henderson / whoever else can't meet the quality of those players meaning that Liverpool have lost much of their luster. Of course, other teams have diminished in quality, but not as drastically.
