Valley of Legends is a larger 2 player map then what I usually make. It features many expansions for players & map control options that you can choose from depending on how you prefer to play the game.
Overview: (The shallow water looks rigid in the overview but looks fine ingame & other screenshots, not sure why the overview picture bugs it out. If anyone knows how to fix it in the overview please let me know.)
Top Down Overview:(Again, same problem with the water. + Show Spoiler +
Specs: Spawns: 2 & 8 o'clock Size: 144x136 (Main to Main & Nat to Nat is exactly the same rush distance as Cross Position shattered temple.) Availability: US Expansions: Main/Nat: 8minerals,2gas Third #1: 7minerals, 2gas Third #2: 6minerals, 1 gas Forths/Fifths: 6minerals, 1 gas Gold: 5minerals, 1 Rich gas
After you get your 2nd base, there are many options you can take for your thirds. If you expand to the base with the most resources, it is also the farthest base away and thus will force you to spread yourself out the most. Although even if you take this base there are many ways you can still wall yourself off. Example: + Show Spoiler +
Also, how a terran could setup to sit safely on 3 base. + Show Spoiler +
Let's say you don't feel safe enough to expand so far away & instead would rather take a closer base. Well, the 6 mineral 1 gas expansion is close & safe! + Show Spoiler +
A unique thing about this map is that not only can you use three 3x3 buildings to wall off one side, there is also a Xel'naga watch tower close by, covered by Destructible rocks that will help you give lots of vision, if you choose to break them. Example: + Show Spoiler +
Finally, if you are super greedy! Or...just a terran player that wants to planetary up the gold. It is just so nicely set up to give you a lot of control right in the middle. + Show Spoiler +
After you take your thirds, make sure to keep map control by sticking around in the middle. + Show Spoiler +
Or sneak a side base and hope your enemy won't notice. + Show Spoiler +
It looks really great. There's a good flow, it seems like you can expand in a number of different directions, and the attack paths with change depending on where you and your opponent expand. Really cool. I think the rocked watchtowers fit in perfectly here. Not a huge fan of the aesthetics, but ehh, I'll live.
I have to say, the map looks nice and smoothly. I'm not that good with detecting balance issues, but I don't see any big ones for the moment. I really like the aesthetics of the map. It looks like a mix of a rpg map blended with the melee style.
why can't map creaters ever upload to europe? Don't you guys asume we might be interested in it too. Of the 25 maps that i checked in the last while only 3 of them have i been able to play.
And as much as i don't want to make this a personal at OP aimed post. It's just cuz i like your map man ;( <3

You'd be surprised when ingame playing it. It does actually feel a lot smaller then it is. I mean, everybody is use to cross positions metal or shattered temple and this map is exactly the same size as those games would play out.

If I knew somebody *cough lefix or Zaphid* I'd give them my map files and see if they'd upload it on EU for me but only if enough people on EU wanted me to. Otherwise sorry, since I'm NA, I can only get it on NA.
Very nice looking map. Has an epic fantasy kind of feel to it, and strategically I think there will be a lot of options for how to play this map. Great work.

Sure, that's why I didn't say it IS huge, but looks huge. The open sides (missing a 3rd and 4th starting position) create a very wide open feeling when looking at your map. I like it, good job on that.

I'd love to play it on EU, since I'm EU and only can play it on EU.
