While I'm definitely a fan of EG I feel like there's gonna be a lack of content specific to the team and not the individual players. If it's meant to replace the individual threads then that's a different thing, but a lot of team threads would contain discussion on one (or two) players as they are clear profiles.

I share the same concern but looking at the majority of fanclubs I don't think that this one will end up worse than the others. And if people have nothing to talk about in it after all, it's not that big of a deal really - just another thread that's going to disappear from the first page.

Also, I think that it will relieve some of the off-topic from other fanclubs.
