It is possible, but not in every country, that has more to do however with people's attitude towards woman then the woman itself.
Someone who runs for such a position would not let such things affect them. Also, women are affected to different degrees to begin with.
That said there is a clear difference between men and women in politics, in what issues they tend to care most about and involve themselves with (healthcare, childcare, schools and other such problems, whereas men usually focus more on economy, war, stability. It's usually refered to as soft and hard issues.). If this would be an issue if a woman became president or not I can't say, since it's an individual.
Australia has a Prime Minister which is a Woman and we are doing just fine, in fact she is incredibly non-descript and unnotable tbh. I think people blow it way out of proportion because generally people are ignorant.
First of all, many countries are led by women already. Second, many world leaders are old enough that this wouldn't be an issue. Third...just no man. Just no.
