I have a problem when I go to: Data > Export Map Image
The preview image does not show the terrain, or sometimes only parts of the terrain, and if I tell it to export anyway the image remains as broken as it showed in the preview.
Its only started to happen over the last few days but its happening to every map. Its fine at first, but at some point it stops being fine. At first I thought it was lighting but then it happened on a map before I touched lighting, then I thought it was something to do with doodads but then it happened before I got to add doodads.
I can still use the editor cam to take a picture but it is never as clean as the export image (especially without Anti-Aliasing.
Anyone know how the issue is caused or how to fix it?

Same issue here, know prodiG has it too.
The terrain bits you sometimes still see are (at least in my case) ones lit up by doodads like spotlights and such. So if you start spamming "ominous light whatever" over the map it should show although it'd probably turn out ridiculous.
No clue why it suddenly started happening. It plagues everything now although i can sometimes manage to get very fresh maps to still give the regular picture, then i switch to a compromised map and the previously functional one has gone the same way when i switch back.

Do you think it could be to do with graphics drivers?
|
I do have issues with light in some tilesets. No Idea why. Maybe blizzard suppport forum?
|
the patch! + Show Spoiler +
i think it's mostly a matter of not allowing "tinkering"
my 2 cents:+ Show Spoiler +if you build everything in the right order and never "change" the tile sets or other lighting= you're fine (no bugging) + Show Spoiler +..any previous map "you're f...ed if you're a pig head like me, and wan't to do what u wanna do, forget about using galaxy's "side" features, + Show Spoiler + and if you're on mac, try not to go mad at having to check "EVERYTHING" at each major patching (i know i have stopped caring, ingame screenshots and "top view" screenshot on "game locked view" is enough for me)
edit: my 3rd cent "Do you think it could be to do with graphics drivers?" my granny says yes

I haven't had this specific problem, but some other problems during export with custom lighting.
Have you tried different lighting options in the export dialog? (you have game and editor, editor sometimes seem to work for me when game lighting = no lighting)
Also, try doing custom settings in the dialog too (activate and deactivate different layers and see if anything happens).
|
I've tried every possible option and reinstalled so far. I haven't gotten anywhere. I'm probably going to be makning a post on the blizz forums in the near future, nobody in #sc2mapster has been able to help me with this either.
EDIT: I've had it since before 1.2.
EDIT 2: Posted on BNet Bug Report forum

If you are having the same problem, bump the thread on bnet!

my 3rd cent:
start map change texture set one by one each time you change one, you save close editor and on and on until you have your set
remember you have to have every tile present on the map
then paste away, the mini map should be fine... and the display (well the display is still inverted but who's counting...)
good luck to all

good luck to all The textures aren't the issue, the issue is when you place doodads like Omni Light.
|
i'm starting on doodads lights shite... got the blue out nice on both, i think...
the omni f..ks some shite but not all of them do, do they? cmon it's not that awful
galaxy is a work in progress
if we start changing it ... ie adding light doodads in the improper blizz fashion (within a different set of environment features for ex), stands to reason it's gonna bug
and i do think 'light sources" are fucked by video graphic cards or did i get that backwards...
retailing this shit for all the different g cards on the market has always been an issue... it bugs and they'll probably find out why...
at least on that 'the customer is always right" is blizz's motto, still!
edit: the blue is not on the map details picture...

Think I understand why the issue is there.
If you go to File > Preferences > Video you can have it set to "ultra+" (or any other setting) but you have to set the "Terrain Quality" to low. That lets me export images again. The terrain itself doesnt seem that much less than what it was, but the water terrible.

Its not really a way round the issue if the watter looks yucky but I hope its helpful in the mean time.

Just curious but if you set the terrain quality back to high or ultra, but make the resolution of the image really tiny - does that work too?
|
YAY I own at library service! With all the saying "Shhh" and the "architecture books are over there." Service with a dulset tone.
