Jinro, HayprO, Ret in GSL S3 Ro64, 23rd - 25th Nov 2010
Liquid's lineup for the GSL Open S3 Ro64 is extensive this week, with TLAF-Liquid`Jinro, TLAF-Liquid`HayprO and TLAF-Liquid`Ret all playing in the first round of the tournament.
Liquid's GSL bid kicks off today with HayprO going up in a ZvT against Bitbybit. Then, Ret goes ZvP vs Cyrano on Wednesday the 24th, and finally Jinro finishes up on Thursday the 25th with a TvZ against NEXDrug.
The home team has done their part by training hard for these games, so be sure that you're around to root for them in the Live Report threads and on IRC. Three Liquid in the Ro32 would be super awesome, and this is of course what we're hoping for, even as the games begin in a few hours.
Stay tuned to TL for updates on the action in Korea, and be sure to whip out those cheerfuls as well. Liquid fighting! It's time to paint Seoul in beautiful shades of blue.

We're happy to announce this week that our Dreamhack lineup has been bolstered by the presence of TLAF-Liquid`HuK. He will join TLAF-Liquid`Tyler and TLAF-Liquid`TLO in Sweden on Friday at the world's biggest LAN.
There's more, though. Liquid's partner team oGs will also be sending two of its players to the event. oGsTOP and oGsInca will be flying out with TLAF-Liquid`HuK to Sweden where they too will take part in the SC2 tournament. The weekend just keeps getting better and better, right?
In this issue, we get Back to HuK and talk about Europe, Dreamhack, and his plans for 2011. Have a look, and be sure to be on TL Friday as the games begin in Sweden. Here's hoping for more MLG-esque Liquid domination. Go team!
Hi HuK! Nice to talk to you again after some time. How is Korea treating you?
Great. I really like a lot of things about Korea, the food, girls, my teammates, everything is really great. Plus I'm sleeping really well surprisingly.
The GSL quals didn't go as planned for you. Talk us through your preparation and the games themselves.
Well preparation wise it didn't go as well as planned. Things were really hectic when we first got here and we didn't really do a lot of ranking games or anything. We just went to PC bang and practiced a lot on ladder, and played a few custom. Basically in the finals he played better and won, nothing much else to say.
Excited that you're going to Dreamhack? What are you looking forward to the most?
I'm very excited! I'm looking forward to participating in a European tournament the most; especially since it's Dreamhack which I've heard so many good things about.
What's your favourite thing about Europe? If you had to live anywhere in the continent for 1 year as a progamer, where would you pick to stay?
Favorite thing about Europe would have to be how much they support e-sports I guess. ESL Cologne was huge, and I hope Dreamhack will be even bigger. If I had to live somewhere it would probably would be Germany, simply because of EPS. Other than that Paris, just because the girls are so nice. ^^;
If you, Tyler and Dario were to form a pro 3v3 team, which other 3v3 pro team would you want to face off against in the finals of a worldwide 3v3 tourney?
Boxer, Nada, and Intotherainbow
You'll be flying out with oGsInca and oGsTop. How have the oGs guys been so far, and which players have you played or hung out with the most?
The oGs guys are really great I get along with them pretty well. I think I've got to know IrOn the most. They all think I'm very crazy from day one, which is a good thing in some ways I guess.
How has the Korean ladder been? You predicted it would be more aggressive. Has this been true, and if so, how have you adapted to most of your opponents being like this?
Harder then I expected. Koreans really know how to all-in well and they do it very often and disguise it really well. PvP I've been wanting to kill myself lately - all they do is this sick timing attacks right when warpgates finish where they have like 19 probes and 5 zealot 8 stalkers... It's pretty ridiculous.
What do you miss about Canada the most right now?
My family and friends of course .
Since arriving in Incheon, what aspect of your play have you been focusing on the most? Is there a particular matchup you feel you have improved in since arriving in Korea?
Variation. I want to be a very dynamic player that can do a lot of different things so learning the popular builds within the house in every matchup has added a lot of depth to my play. I just gotta make sure I can learn them completely. PvZ I have definitely improved. I've meet some really good players on the ladder and won sometimes with both very cheesy builds and straight up play.
The Dreamhack brackets are full of big names like Whitera, Idra, BRAT_OK, Morrow, Demuslim, Dimaga and Socke. Pick two of them to have in your preliminary group.
Idra and BRAT_OK
You're in this for the long run, so we need to ask - post Dreamhack, what are your personal goals for the end of 2010 and the beginning of 2011. Where is HuK gonna be next year?
Make A team in Liquid-oGs house, get top 20 ladder on the Korean server even after taking TLOs crappy account, get Code S in GSL asap, win every tournament I play in, and maybe get a cute Korean girlfriend? <33 ;o
Haypro plays his GSL Ro64 game today, and we have a bunch of his ladder reps for you to watch while you wait. Yes, that's really SeleCT. But, is that really Kang Min? We can't say for sure, but we sure hope it is!
There was some cool Liquid video content floating around this week, starting off with the Giantbomb Liquid-oGs House Tour.
Then, there were Banelings, with Husky rocking the Liquid jersey! If you haven't already, check out Kurt's Youtube channel, because it's pretty awesome as well.

TLAF Cheerful Contest
This awesome canvas is courtesy of our favourite paintbrush, pachi!
How Do I enter?
1) Grab the cheerful template seen above.
2) Make a cheerful for Jinro, Haypro or Ret (or many/all of them)!
3) Use it in the Live Report thread for any of the GSL Ro64 days (Day 2, 3, 4) that a Liquidian plays on. Posting your cheerful in this (The Liquid Weekly) thread will not count as an official contest entry.
A Cheerful? What's that?
Cheerfuls are fan made placards which Korean progamers traditionally display in their booths when they play on live TV. Here at TL, we use them in LR threads to support players and teams we like.

When will I know if I've won or not?
The winner of this week's contest will be announced in next week's Weekly.
Is is true that wearing the Winged Horse will immediately increase my SC2 skills by 50%?
Although we cannot confirm this, our users have claimed that the t-shirt has significantly changed the way they play the game.
