Hey guys. First of all why the hell can't I post in blog o.o. Anyway, I have about a 1 month old DeathAdder that I pretty much love all around. I have it on 3500 DPI, love the sensitivity, and 1,000 Hz Polling rate. I got it because I can get it for $38 at my job w/ discount.

Anyway here's the delima. I have pretty big hands I guess, so people would generally say use the Death Adder. However, I kind of don't like the feel of it too much so I do a lot of miss clicks in game, but I love the sensitivity. The kinzu and Xai look relatively the same and from what I can tell the only differences is Lazer/Optical and the Kinzu has 3200 DPI and the Xai has 5000 DPI. I can get a Kinzu for $35 and I can get a Xai for around $58.

I kind of want a smaller mouse but I don't want to claw grip, i'd rather just lay my hand down on the mouse with a kind of arc so that my fingertips are touching and the middle of my hand is hovering over it. (See pictures)

Anyway, can you guys give me some overview on the performance of the mice and the feel of them?

BTW, sorry for the bad quality and upside-down-ness of the pictures. Stupid iPod Touch >.<

I didn't have enough money when I went mouse shopping, but I've tried it out different lan parties and I must say, steeleries ikari>any other mouse. I have big hands as well, and it just fits perfectly. I love my deathadder, but if you have the cash, get an ikari.

I also hear that the ikari/xai are practically the same, so the xai should work just as well. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I had a DeathAdder previously (only reason I don't still have it is my right click went out after a long life) and I loved it. I have a Xai now and I have to say that I like it a bit more. They are both great mice, but I like the feel of the Xai a bit more. Only problem with the Xai is it has very loud clicking... So, if that isn't an issue for you, go for the Xai!

I'm pretty sure the Xai has lift distance calibration or some shit like that. I met suggest trying another mouse pad. I went from a SteelSeries QcK to a CM Storm pad and my DeathAdder feels completely different to me.

The Kinzu has some sensor issues -it has mouse acceleration built into HARDWARE... and lingering driver issues, so the mouse will skip pixels at 1600dpi and you can never have a truly acceleration free mouse. I ended up buying an MX518 after the Kinzu because the pixel skipping issues drove me insane. That said, I think in 3200dpi mode the Kinzu didn't have skipping issues, but the hardware acceleration will still be there.

@Cadgers I have the QcK

Looking more at if I should get the Xai now, I just need to hold one and see if I like it yet.

kinzu has trouble on 1600 dpi setting, buy other mouse.

I have/had both. The Kinzu is pretty much the perfect non-RTS mouse. It feels so natural in my hand, and the coating is the best. But for SC it feels heavy for me, and I always get out my Logitech Mini Optical for that. The Deathadder is again a solid non-RTS mouse but I certainly, certainly prefer the Kinzu over the DA.

I heard the Kinzu has serious problems with acceleration (search google), which is really bad. Surprising, since Steelseries usually makes very solid products.

The Xai however doesn't have this problem from what I hear, and has a very powerful sensor.

Every mouse is too small if you have huge hands and use palm grim.
Or then my hands are just gigantic. Fingertip grip is more comfortable for RTS anyways.

I keep hearing that the Xai has tracking issues, has anyone experienced any?

It doesn't - it works on most surfaces. It does however suffer from positive acceleration like all mice with that sensor.

So all Laser mice have positive acceleration? I know I used to have a laser mouse that I absolutely hated and immediately god rid of because of it.

Xai is a really nice mouse...I've used the Deathadder 3G, 2.5G, Mamba, Logitech G7, MX1000, G5...nothing is as smooth and comfortable for my hands than the Xai. It does have a minor negative acceleration, which may be a problem at very, very low sensitivity.
It also has an awesome LCD on the bottom that makes it easy to switch between profiles...rather than doing it blind like on mouse mice.

As far as I know the sensor has no acceleration, but does have some sort of issue with some cloth surfaces.

I will look into the mouse tomorrow at work, I think I might get a 6gv2 or 7g keyboard as well.

I have random money to spend :\

I have had my xai for about 2 months now and I still can't get over how amazing it is. Definitely recommended.
