Hwaseung OZ wins 4:3!

(P)PerfectMan: "I am trying to emulate BeSt's monster macro" (interesting aside: in Google translate it translates that last phrase to "animal-like spamming" rofl)

- How long has it been since you had a winner's interview? (LOL starting with a question like that)
▲ It feels like it's been over a year since my last Proleague interview. Though I only have two wins so far, I'll continue to work hard and win even more.

- In the last match, you won as well, but the team was unable to win.
▲That was when I finally understood how Jaedong-hyung felt.

- How was the match?
▲ I was nervous in the beginning so I was put at a disadvantage, but after the first successful break I was more at ease to continue playing. Recently, I've been studying a lot of BeSt's games, learning his macro ability. I feel a lot more confident in my macro now.

- Last season, you only achieved two wins total in the entire season, but this time you've earned two wins already.
▲ My results were terrible in the 09-10 season, I couldn't even look myself in the eye. This season I'm aiming to get results that the team can be proud of.

- Your goal for the season?
▲ Around 20 wins.

- With the format as a best of 7 now, you'll have to put in extra effort.
▲ Our team has been considered one of the weak teams, but if I can perform better, we have many strong players as well. Despite poor results last season, I've also learned a lot and gained experience, which should come into play this time around.

- Last thoughts?
▲ After two consecutive losses the atmosphere at the team house was not so good, but the coaching staff always worked to help alleviate the mood. I hope everyone can work hard this season.

(Z)Killer: "Backho, don't be too sad; Great, don't be too proud of yourself"

- Your feelings after winning?
▲ I'm glad we ended our losing streak, and we'll have to keep working hard for the next match.

- In previous matches, you always seemed to get the early advantage and then fail horribly (t/n not the exact phrasing lolol)
▲ I can't even bring myself to watch those losses, it's painful and disappointing. In official matches, I always lose to Terran (imba), so I've lost quite a bit of confidence in my ZvT. Starting now, I have to become better at fighting a variety of styles/races/I'm not really sure what he's saying here exactly.

- In a dangerous situation, you won and propelled the team to an ace match.
▲ I was always going to be sent out sixth, and since I have some experience now I wasn't too nervous. I only thought about playing like I did in practice.

- Weren't you extra happy after winning the sixth match?
▲ I wasn't ecstatic, but I was happy because I knew we had Jaedong, and that meant we'd won. (t/n haha)

- With the Bo7 format, your responsibility has become greater. What is your goal for the season?
▲ My responsibility has certainly become greater. We've been pegged as one of the weaker teams, but we have a lot of team spirit (I don't know how else to phrase that.), so if we can maintain today's momentum, I think we can continue to win. I haven't set a specific goal, I just want to get results I can be satisfied with. Last season I achieved 22 wins, so I hope I can beat that record this time.

- Last thoughts?
▲ Don't be too upset, Backho-hyung! After the match he looked like he felt really bad about it. Don't worry about it too much, just do your best in the next match and it'll be okay. Also, Great-hyung made fun of me on B.net since he'd won a game while I'd lost two in a row. I just want to say to him not to get too cocky! (laughs)

(Z)Jaedong: "I don't want people to only pay attention to me while ignoring the team"

- You won twice in one day and brought victory for the team.
▲ I'm really happy; if you aren't careful you could easily rack up three straight losses without even realizing it. Today's victory is very precious.

- STX is an incredibly solid team, but it's often believed that if brought to an ace match, Oz will surely win in the end. Do you think this is because of you? (t/n dumb question tbh)
▲ Starting from last season, STX has always played Modesty in the ace match, so I prepared ZvZ. (t/n DODGED)

- Does STX using a Zerg in the ace match pose any threat?
▲ Others might think I'm being arrogant, but if I'm playing ZvZ I always play with absolutely no pressure whatsoever. I sometimes think about totally destroying the opponent's Zerg ace player, so that next time they won't even think about sending another Zerg for the ace match. (badass)

- So far, Oz is still being called "Jaedong Oz"
▲ Last season I already heard this kind of talk. This time, I hope we can learn something from last season's results, and work harder together. When people only pay attention to me, it's actually bad news from a Proleague standpoint (??? + Show Spoiler [Chinese] +
只有我被关注,在SPL上其实是非常不好的消息

I get what he's saying but now how it applies to anything...
)

- Do you have plans of taking Flash's "most wins" crown from him?
▲ Though I do want to do that, the team's results are the most important. Last season my personal record was pretty good, but the team only came in 8th. It made me realize that no matter how well I personally perform, it won't matter if the team doesn't. So yes, I do want to get the "most wins" award, but above all I want the team to be high-ranked. If I play well while helping the team to the top, the award will then become a definite possibility.

- With the format change, Oz has been seen as a weaker team
▲ Currently, a lot of people will probably think this, because while other teams have become much stronger, we've remained pretty much the same. Right now, tearing down this poor image of Hwaseung is our primary concern. In order to show the fans a different Oz than last season, we'll have to work much harder.

- So far, you've been in excellent form, but if you were to get tired/start slumping, wouldn't Hwaseung be in a lot of trouble?
▲ This is no time for me to be tired. I'm feeling as energetic as ever, and my desire to win remains strong, so don't worry about me.

- Your goals for the season?
▲ I haven't really thought about personal goals yet, but I have been worried about Proleague, so I'm very happy we won today. If we'd continued on our losing streak the team atmosphere would have been terrible, so I hope everyone can keep practicing hard and get good results. (t/n lame)

If Perfectman and the others would pull their shit together OZ would be easily a playoff team.

thats the funny thing about oz is that they got so much damn potential and each player show off randomly here and there but only at the end of the season everybody plays well >_>

LoL. I understand what you were going for there Perfectman, and I appreciate the effort, but you have a long way to go before you understand how Jaedong feels when his team noobs it up.

If perfectman continues to win his games, hwaseung oz could start to be a threatening team.

Here's to hoping.

Jaedong would completely destroy the opponent's zerg Aces so they would not dare to send another zerg sniper again, ever!

Jaedong is stepping nicely into his role as captain.

Thanks for translations! Jaedong Oz not Jaedong Oz for once >_>

Also thought I'd post this interesting side note on the match here:

Backho has also been penalized for breaking rules.

On the 25th, at Yongsan e-Sports Stadium, in the second game of Oz vs STX, Backho typed ppp, signaling a game pause, but paused the game before an official ruling was reached.

KeSPA's 吴兴真 [T/N an official's name, I guess?] said, "Backho paused the game on his own, breaking the official rules, and consequently he has been penalized." Backho's opponent, CuteAngel, won the game in the end.

It is reported that Backho requested the game be paused because the stadium lights were too bright.
