Ok, so I am a platinum scrub of a Zerg player but it is fairly obvious to me that Zerg has some extreme difficulties in the early game. If you disagree with that assessment that's your right, but I'd rather not hear about it in this topic.
My idea to help the Zerg early game, at least a bit, is to make a modification to the Queen speed off creep. Now, I understand that Queens are far too powerful in the early game to allow them to get to the enemy base easily, and that Queen rushes in the beta were deservedly nerfed by making the Queen extremely slow off creep.
Unfortunately, this had the side effect of making it very difficult to protect yourself with our only early anti air when you fast expand, which from what I can see is exactly what Zerg is intended to do.
So my idea to fix this is simple. Rather than having a set speed off creep, have the Queen start out quickly off creep, and then slow down the longer it's off creep. As soon as it was back on creep, the speed would reset.
This would allow you to move your Queen between your expos prior to spreading creep. It would still keep the importance of creep as nearly every other Zerg unit benefits hugely from it as well. And of course it would still make it difficult or impossible to Queen rush effectively.
What do you guys think?

I've been wondering why they didn't do it this way since Beta. They nerfed Queens to break some rushes-- okay, cool, I understand-- and inadvertantly made FEing and using queens to defend a bit harder without creep spread.
While I like the decision making between laying tumors and spawning larva early, and especially since you can normally have enough larva despite skipping the first spawns, I think this might be one of the quality of life changes Zerg might need to do better-- not just at a pro level, but among the average ladder person who can 1A with the other races but finds Zerg impossible.

we could just have crates around the map with items in them like rollerskates and neutral units where if the queen levels up enough it runs faster.. but the animation would be sweet like it'd pick up it's "skirt" and then RUNNNNNN
