2v2 melee map for competitive play.

Main and natural within a stronghold. 3rd expansion beyond blocked backdoor. 4 watchtowers on central highground offer vision to key areas on the battlefield.


Summary
168x168 playable bounds
14 bases (4 mains, 4 naturals, 4 third expos, 2 gold expos)

The main and natural:

No towers cover the back door.

3rd expansions are connected by a bridge blocked by destructible rocks. Seize the XelNaga tower to spot incoming agression otherwise hidden by LOS blockers.

Changelog:

1.6 Added a few decals (Terran tarmac) to enhance terran industrial feel

It is actually a very interesting map as flowanddebb said. It looks quite fun to play but I don't see how it could really be balanced at all. The start locations are great but I don't know if I like that Xel Naga watchtower in the base.

But then again I was looking at it from a 1v1 point of view and I just realized that its not a 1v1 map haha silly me. It seems quite fun to play on for a 2v2 map actually, but the centre might be far to small. I don't know without proper testing its hard to say.

However from a first glance, it looks like it can be lots of fun and a very unique and interesting map.

I dig it overall. I am personally not a huge fan of maps that have very strong protection of main/nat. It seems too easy, but the XN towers placed all over seems like an interesting game dynamic along with the 2v2 connections. I am also diggin' the huge area of attack at the 3rd. The only thing is that the gold seems far too easy to hold. I would probably just want to take that as my third. Wall it off, put some tanks/cannons/spine crawlers where the land juts out.

Overall, fun idea. If it ever makes it over to the NA servers, I will gladly try it out. =)

I think XWTs inside the mains are a bad idea. It allows for a turtling player to avoid moving out of his base if he can see when your waiting outside. I just think that XWTs inside mains/nats are generally a bad idea. Otherwise, this is a neat map. I like the base placement, and the backdoor.

The Watchtower inside the main does not cover the back door, so if you can seize control of the central tower overlooking the 3rd-to-3rd bridge, you can surprise attack, perhaps combined with a diversion at the front door. If you destroy those destructibles quickly, that is.

I will consider widening the entrance ramp to the gold and possibly kill the tower inside the main if it turns out too turtle prone.

I appreciate all your feedback and I will continuously try to perfect all my maps. A replay of 2v2 (not vs AI) would be fantastic.

If there is a US player who would upload it for me on the US server, I´m open to that if it´s credited to me. I´m not sure how the system works, but maybe I´ll just rename it Asgard US or something. Any suggestions are welcome.
