For those of you that didn't know(no1 fucking knew until yesterday) there is a WCG USA Pre-Qualifier Tomorrow and Sunday in Las Vegas. Details about it were just released yesterday and they are expecting people to show up. If anyone here intends on going(if anyone in the Las Vegas region plays SC you should go, as there will be almost no competition since no1 knows, same for almost all other games) here are the details:
CyberPunx PC Cafe 4620 Meadows Lane #B6 Las Vegas, Nevada 89107
Registration begins at 10AM PST tomorrow and will end on late Sunday(dunno how that will work if they plan on having a tournament, GOGO UCGA! )
All I can say if they are gonna pull this bullshit with every qualifier there are going to be a whole bunch of unhappy people.

LOL - what happened to the online qualifiers? WTF? Yet another reason why gaming isn't huge in the U.S. - stupid shit like this.
|
wtf? so they are going to randomly announce the events?
|
There are online qualifiers as well as offline qualifiers. But, the SC online qualifiers havn't started yet, or any of them seeing as you can't register on the website. Hats off to you, UCGA you worthless pieces of trash.

Dose anyone know WHERE the qualifiers are?

Not in CompUSA stores like last year. Like I said earlier, they will be in PC Cafes of the cities last year with a possibility of a few getting moved around. I think most likely the qualifier cities will stay the same though.

I think the reason it was so last minute could be because of this ESPN footage for an upcoming piece on gaming. Not sure but that could be the only excuse they have to do something so half-brained as this.

so, they skip the prelims and winner of this automatically goes to finals? this format sucks. and the tourny goes over two days? so people who have to travel a ways will have to rent a hotel just to be able to play? ridiculous

lol thats retarded
but i hope they hold one in ohio within 1 month !
that would be sweet

No, there will be other qualifiers held around the country in June through September as well as 2 online qualifiers running from June-July, and August-September, where the top 2 of each online qualifier get to go to the national finals.
That is according to the WCG USA site though, which as we see shit can change rapidly

I think WCG should change its slogon from "Beyond the Game" to "Brought to you by the same idiots that ruined CXG...times two".
|
Ridiculous. I need a couple weeks in advance to get a few days off of work. No contact information at all?

Haha like a few days notice = nobody shows up. Idiots.

It's obvious that it's a conspiracy to create artificial data about the "lack of enthusiasm" for Brood War, so that it can be excluded next year.
