Sorry for taking so long to post, but I've been feeling sick this week and my brain isn't working up to normal capacity, which wasn't much to start with.

From what I've seen so far, I like Incognito's plan for figuring out the DT sanity by agreeing on who to lynch Day Two and having the DTs check them. It's a good way to start figuring out their sanities right away and being able to trust their rolechecks. I'm still a little confused about having a medic/DT list, though. Are the DTs going to checking the people that the medics protect?

I also agree with Foolishness that Ver and Qatol would have evenly distributed the veterans among the town and Mafia alike. Both of them were there (albeit not for very long) for Chuiu's game where nearly all the experienced players were town-aligned and the town nearly got a perfect game as a result. I don't think this justifies lynching veterans just because they're veterans, but watching them more closely than most for Mafia-like behavior doesn't hurt.

As for the Mayor elections, I'm also surprised that none of the candidates except Rebirthoflegend have discussed the fact that Mafia can now infiltrate their own members as bodyguards. Considering the bodyguards and Mayor will know each other this game, it's likely they'll at least be in contact with each other and even form a circle. In that case, we'd want to elect a Mayor who can best demonstrate that they're town-aligned and good at reading people, because they're more likely than most to be in close proximity with Mafia members.

In addition, I'm a little surprised at why people are so contemptuous of Tricode's posts. I admit I've been reading fairly quickly, but I don't see what's so much worse about his posts than, say, Bloodycobbler's or L's.

"bad" players will always be "bad"

How so? The point of continuing to run these games of Mafia is to have people learn how to play better, and plenty of people do get better and better as they understand the rules and learn to distinguish behavior better. Qatol told me he was "absolutely horrible" in his first game, and now he's considered one of the best players here.

Unless you mean players who are labeled "bad" will always be labeled "bad," in which case I totally agree. It's hard to get rid of a label like that, unless you play spectacularly well in a game or consistently well in multiple games. Especially if a well-known player like Ace or L attaches the "bad player" label to you.

Well looking at his posts, Tricode's astounding logic and gamesense seems to have stayed unchanged, so it's not a stretch to assume a relatively similiar skill level to past games. And you sound so serious, that's very scary.

I am serious when it comes to people being labeled as "good" and "bad" like that. I apologize if this is frightening for you. "Good" players can play quite badly and "bad" players can play well, so labeling someone like that and sticking by it forever seems ill-advised. And I thought it was ironic that Foolishness made that post, having been labeled a "bad" player by Ace in the past.

I'm neither defending or advocating Tricode's lynch, but I'm puzzled as to why people seem to have latched onto that. Especially since the issue at hand right now should be the Mayor elections. I would definitely like to see a little more from the candidates than "*yawn* *runs for Mayor* *goes back to sleep*".

I find myself agreeing with Infundibulum and, of all people, L. We don't know if there are any veterans this game at all, considering with the low Mafia KP that they barely seem necessary. In which case it would become quite messy if anyone decides to falsely roleclaim, which has been known to happen.

I'd also like to say that there's nothing wrong with having a townie pardoner, which Tricode seems to be in position to become. Most of us seem pretty agreed that he is innocent. I'm a little surprised by the number of votes for Pyrrh, though.

And motbob, my condolences regarding your grandfather.

Sorry for not posting for a day. I think I was so annoyed by the bad rhyming and upside-down posts that I just didn't feel like checking the thread for a while. I'm very glad there's been a lot of substantive posts and debating since then.

I admit I'm not sure if I believe Ace's claim to be a detective. But I am swayed by the fact that he gave the result of his rolecheck and his overall activity, which has been extremely high and characterized by planning and aggressive posts, rather than boredom/TL;DR(when he's green) or quiet (when he's Mafia). If so, I don't think his checking Judge was such a bad move, nor sharing the result of his rolecheck. If the Mafia target either Judge or Ace (assuming they substituted in bodyguards), we can get a better idea of either Ace's sanity or the identities of two Mafia, respectively. I'm probably missing something, but that doesn't seem too bad to me.

I also think Amber[light]'s logic regarding Ace's pardoning motbob was pretty hilarious. As far as I can tell (and Ace is free to chime in), he pardoned motbob because he had a pretty good reason to be inactive and promised to be active again after Sunday. Lynching someone because they don't have time to post right away wouldn't help the town much, especially when we had very little information pointing toward motbob being Mafia. Also, do you really think Qatol and Ver would "prefer Ace not to pardon motbob but allowed him to do it to preserve Mafia KP"? Game hosts aren't going to allow or disallow player actions and interfere with the outcome of the game like that. Your logic sounded pretty sketchy, as though you just don't like Ace and were trying to justify it as best you could.

Hmm. I know that Ace's roleclaim as detective has definitely gotten everyone worked up, but I'm wondering what happened to the original plan to agree on a Day Two lynch and get the detectives to rolecheck the lynch victim to better ascertain their sanity. Whatever ultimately comes out of all the finger-pointing and name-calling, I hope we're still going to follow that plan. It still seems like a good plan, as it gives further help on confirming detective sanity and the town can lynch someone acting suspiciously.

In the interest of lynching someone who isn't an elected official and has been acting suspiciously, I'd like to mention Vivi57 and Chezinu as people we could possibly agree to lynch. Both have been fairly quiet this game and, as far as I know, haven't contributed much in their posts. I specifically remember Vivi saying he wanted to vote Tricode for the first lynch, only to vote for Tricode as mayor. Then he switches at the last minute to Ace, because "he wanted Tricode as mayor, not pardoner," even though Tricode was demonstrating he was pretty clearly town-aligned at that point and a townie pardoner seems like a valuable thing to have. Instead, he joined a late vote swing to push someone else into office.

Chezinu also hasn't posted much of value, as far as I can tell. Mostly some rhymes in response to Bloodycobbler's (in which the pupil seems to have surpassed his master in terms of quality). He also made an early post stating how he was "brown" (a mix of red and green, I assume?), yet also insinuating he was the mad hatter. It seemed like he was trying to justify not posting much in the game by trying to emulate a blue or green role.

I mention this whole thing partly because I'm very hesitant to lynch any elected office so early, or even active players like Amber[light], which seems the likely outcome if everyone joins in the finger-pointing. Now that everyone's accounted for and has had time to post, I think it's better if we all agree to lynch someone acting suspicious and unhelpful (like Vivi or Chezinu) and get the detectives to rolecheck them to find out their sanity.

Sorry, I'm not thinking clearly at all. Please completely disregard the part about checking DT sanity in my post, considering the DTs can't exactly check someone's role once they're dead. I guess that'll have to be left until the next Night, if at all. The part about Vivi and Chezinu acting suspicious still holds, though, so one of them could be the lynch for Day Three.

Just wanted to say: Yay, I died! And just in time, because my computer at home also just died. I must say, if I never get another role as townie-with-KP, it'll be far too soon.

I definitely missed clues, this game. I admit sometimes they are distracting and can lead you down totally wrong paths, but they also generate a lot of discussion that can be useful for behavior analysis. Especially early, when there's not much else to discuss, clues always make a good conversation topic. You can often read a lot into why certain people are debating or supporting a certain intepretation of a clue (or whether something is a clue at all), or even ignoring clues altogether.

In addition, if you have good clue analysts in the game like Camlito or MTF, you can find people based on clues alone. As long as the clue-maker doesn't make the clues extremely convoluted or counter-intuitive, of course. Besides, I think they're fun and make Day posts a lot more interesting.
