Since we've seen some Season 3 related content at long last thanks to Comic Con, it's time to look at how spoilers are dealt with, at least in IRC. This will only be slightly helpful to old users, but new users are highly encouraged to read this.

Many of you are new to IRC, and are most likely unfamiliar with how spoilers are dealt with therein, so allow me to post a refresher and clarification.

Linking to any spoilers of videos, synopsis, artwork, fanfiction, or screenshots of upcoming episodes or spoiler content is fine, provided it is noted in the same line of text. Failure to adhere will result in a warning or temp ban, depending on the severity of the case. For example, if something is posted, then you forget to spoiler tag it, and say "oh shit, spoiler," immediately afterward, that's really not okay, but may result in a warning.
When posting things such as Deviantart links that have the artwork's title in the URL, please be aware of possible spoilers in the URL. If there are potential spoilers, use one of the myriad of URL shorteners available and tag it accordingly.
Do not discuss unreleased content that is considered spoilers as referenced above in plain text in the public channel. Take it to queries. Posting any form of spoilers in plain text like this will be met with a zero tolerance policy. Please report any infractions to me as well as a timestamp if possible. Generally, infractions of this nature will be met with a non-negociable week ban.
If an episode has aired, all related content and discussion is fine for IRC. This means that if you haven't watched an episode yet, enter IRC at your own risk.

Most spoiler-related bans will be a week. Circumvention attempts of bans will most likely upgrade it to a perm.

Sorry for a harsh post like this, but I felt it was needed before the season began so we're all on the same page, at least within IRC. This thread's rules aren't necessarily the same, as I am not a TL moderator, but make sure to spoiler tag stuff in a similar fashion here, too.

Yea, to add to that, there are people who read through some of the thread before watching any of the parts of the show (not all of it, obviously) so even after an episode is aired its a common courtesy to put things in spoilers. I know it is asking too much to spoiler all the episode talk long after the episode airs, so I won't (nor do I really want to). If you feel using the bbcode use it. It would make me happy.

I don't like hasbro doing this, I'm not a spoiler freak but songs are a big part of the show and being surprised by them in the episodes has always been part of the appeal.

I'm definately no fan of spoilers especially not for MLP. But I don remember a thin about the scattered bits of the song I heard ^^. Either way I'm excited beyond words at the prospect of new pony episodes. Current lack of ponies has amade me a rather sad / unfortunately unhappy dotar playar.

Personally I'm really really happy for these teasers and songs. My PONY HYPE is renewed! Hard to get by on massive amounts of fanfiction alone. (well, not that hard, but yeah season 3!)
