Personal attacks in this thread will draw a temp ban. |

Excuse me, but your post is just dumb.
1. Just because it's his fan club thread doesn't mean it's the wild west for him in there. There's no zone of no jurisdiction on TL, and just because your fans have made a thread for you doesn't mean you can do in there whatever you want. That would mean that popularity could override mod privileges which isn't rational at all.
2. TL doesn't want to be the center of SC2? What mod actions are you talking about specifically? And since when has strict moderation led to a decay of this site? If anything, it's the moderation that made TL the amazing site that it is. I'd even argue that more moderation could be needed, but the mods are working on that (->purge).
3. Since when is reddit an alternative to TL.net? It's a completely different site and serves other purposes. I don't see TL being replaced anytime soon, again especially not due to moderation.

I do believe that cruncher was listening to the stream just by the way he reacted at the exact same time idra announced to his stream he was going all-in, but there's no way to know for sure and sadly we will never know. I think it's sad, but also a risk players take when they stream.
Edit: Forgot the "never know" lol

It seems like ever since the whole EG masters cup controversy there has been so much HEAT these days especially after the last STOG.. This makes e-sports look so unprofessional sigh...

Other than that I agree.
No offense but both of those players.... are not even near the top of the zerg skill level. Mondragon barely even playes SC2 and Darkforce has not won a notable tournament. Not speculating just purely looking at results from previous Tournaments.

Because the thread is on teamliquid. Thats why they can ban someone in "their own" thread. Like it or not Cruncher is a pro player and its always been tl's policy to punish those who attack pro players on a personal level. If Idra straight up said Cruncher was a waste of life, because of some bad blood and some possible cheating then he deserves the ban. Thats not attacking someone's play thats just straight up attacking a person. TL is what it is. They hold their posters to a higher standard of posting and calling someone a waste of life doesn't contribute to anything, or further discussion of Sc or Sc2. They have done a really good job keeping the forums relatively mature, if you want people making immature personal attacks and claiming that someone doesn't deserve to live due to their behavior in a video game, then go play halo or something. And I'm sure the people in charge of TL are thrilled it has become as big as it is, but I doubt they are gonna change themselves to accommodate a bunch of people coming into their forums and telling them how they should run it, and frankly I'd be extremely disappointed if they did. The mods are doing a fine job and honestly watching this thread just makes me embarrassed to be the giant Idra fan boy that I am.
That being said I hate Cruncher, I do think he was stream cheating, and I love the majority of Idra's bm and drama. I don't even have a problem with what he said about Cruncher, but it definitely deserved a ban and if you think its ok to personally attack someone as seriously as Idra did and you are second guessing the mods then you really need to reevaluate the situation and your future on TL.

They don't care about the forum ban, they care about the stream feature ban. There are two different things.

IdrA is very good at SC2. He is a pro. And Protoss is maybe a little easier than zerg, or maybe not. BUT, that doesn't allow IdrA or anyone to insult other people. Manner up.

You made your point wrong. It's he's not allowed to insult other people on TL's forums because it's against their rules. I'm pretty sure he's allowed to insult whoever he wants just not on TL

Stop the presses.
Seriously, I understand that what he said was unacceptable for TL since it's a high-standard community (which is a good thing), but it's not like he's the goddamn devil. What does "not allowed to insult other people" even mean? Are the niceguy police going to show up at his house and drag him away?

Maybe I'm missing something but why wouldn't they remove his stream from the featured streams during his ban? Doesn't make sense to me to ban someone from teamliquid but still allow their stream to be advertised and essentially be using teamliquid services. Would make the ban almost useless imo.

Ban for insulting the cheater, cruncher not banned for cheating
Entirely logical.

So was IdrA banned for accusing Cruncher of cheating, or saying that he's a waste of life?

Saying he's a waste of life. Once a cheater, always a cheater. I'm honestly surprised Cruncher and the Complexity Organization is taking this lightly.

They should close the SOTG thread because IdrA says some pretty heinous things about other people in that podcast...

I'd like that as well, if Idra's okay with it.
Is everyone complaining about the ban new? I feel like there's an influx of people complaining, when most of the fanclub didn't even blink during the last 30 day ban.
