I've always found carnivorous plants appealing.
Not only do the eat pesky bugs but they look hardcore while they do it.
I like how they show how brutal nature really is.
A Venus Flytrap would probably be my first choice.

I longed for carnivorous plants since I was a kid. They are so fascinating.
My father also plants some cacti and succulents. I like to imagine that I am a one hundred times smaller and that I climb onto the plants and see all the details like insect could see.

I have a few sweet orchids. They are amazing and easy to care for once you get a hang of it. Basically, do not overwater.

Finally a nice thread about personal stuff!

I used to have 2 little cactus on my shelf, but on a windy day my window killed one of them by chopping its body from the roots

Now only one is left, once I found out how its called, i'll post a pic

By "protest thread" are you refering to the gun thread ?
If so I fail to understand how this thread is protesting ... I mean I get that flowers are peacefull and guns are not but , why precisely a plant thread.
Anyways for the plant , I have always adored bonzai trees and I want copious amounts of them. Also there is a blood read maple looking tree that just looks fantastic :p

So far I'm pretty sure about three plants that I want to buy in the near future. I don't know the name of the first plant, but it's a pretty regular plant. I just adore how the leaves are light yet the wood is so sturdy.

All the plants I grow are ones I can eat

Currently have beds of rhubarb, garlic, redishio (might be radishio actually) lettuce, a pepper plant and there are plans for some peas and tomatoes. I also keep plenty of herbs indoors on a mini herb garden thing I have on my kitchen windowsill. Got chives, coriander, basil and rosemary on there at the moment. The kitchen smells awesome.

This thread is just about the last thing you'd expect on a starcraft forum, glad to see it generate so much interest. When I was a kid I turned my sandbox into a garden, 15 years later only the raspberry's are still alive, and they've spread all over my parents' back yard like weeds that have to be pulled every year. But hey, they get tons of free raspberries every august, I don't see why they complain. And at least raspberries are productive, making tasty treats unlike all those lazy flowers my mom spends so much time attending too.

2 cactuses and an Aloe Vera plant. I'm horrible with anything green, it just withers and dies as soon as I step near them, so I'm playing it safe. Besides, I'm a bachelor, so it's not like anyone expexts my apartment to be a garden.

Thats a fairly gay thread title right there.
On topic i have herbs in pots on my kitchen windowsill.
So far got Rosemary, Chives, Basil, Sage, Parsley and Bay
The most useful thing if your a keen cook, and they only cost me 50p/plant from ASDA, cheap and they last for ages as long as you take care of them.

I have a balcony outside of my room and I am growing a society garlic that i transplanted from another region of my property and have potted. It is now over two feet tall and has 3 awesome blooms and the others on my ranch are <1 foot and have no signs of blooms in the near future. I also just finished planting a Cosmo? seed and cannot wait to see the results.
I am new to gardens and plants and whatnot but I am really excited to see how this is going to turn out.

On a side note, my balcony has rails that i would love to have a vine(s) growing on. What would be the best vine and procedure to accomplish this. Once my cosmo(s) grow i will post a fun picture of my balcony garden that i am ever so proud of XD

My coworker from my previous job owns a cactus. She says it's the easiest plant to keep alive...she also labels herself as the plant killer because she says every plant she touches will die. But apparently her cactus is happy being watered 1x every other month.
