Supreme Commander is much better than SC2 in larger teams. The starting builder being stronger than any of the early units means you have to fight commander to commander early to be aggressive.
Hey man, I would love to play DotA 2, and if you still have any keys I'd love one. I don't have anything to trade in return (except for SC2 lessons, but nobody really wants those anymore), but if your feeling generous I'll take one happily.

im not sure anyone plays it still , was really original and had quite a lot of fun with it. a normal battle was 8v8
I popped on WiC a few months ago, still about three servers going full at once. That's a great game worth playing but you can't tinker with build orders.
I'd suggest Dawn of War 2 as you can try different build orders there, think there's probably still quite a few players too.

A forewarning to anyone wanting to play this game, it is much more difficult than sc2 you may get frustrated, but if you like a challange and a great team game experience(you may piss some people off if you are a slow learner), then this is definitely worth a try. Sad that so many people haven't even heard of the game, a lot of the blame for that goes to people who judge it before they ever play it.
if there are still people who are looking for a great RTS game i just can say try Forged Alliance. in my oppinion, its the best RTS game ever and very unique...its not like other RTS which are more linear ( in my oppinion). In forged Alliance you can play with so many different strategies and dont have to start with the same BO like in other RTS games. its really complex and very addictive once you get familar with the game. it´s just a great community we got there...kinda like a big family Also, there are lot of tournaments, a huge map vault, it supports up to 6v6 multiplayer games, Ladder games for 1v1 and a global ladder, Avatars, and a nice build in chatroom where u can ask questions etc.

Age of Empires 1-3 is just the best teamgame Game. Go try aoe3, there is more active players than in aoc. (Coz I Have all expansions, I see every open game and can play them)( and in aoe3 you dont have to switch between different expansions coz they "join" together.)
That is pretty awesome. Too bad they chose to basically take two of their own players out of the game. Would've loved to see how a fight between somewhat balanced armies plays out.
If you're interested in Supreme Commander gameplay, but want a free alternative, you should look at Zero-K. It's open-source and includes all of the features of a TA-like game, including massive maps, huge battles, and great team-based gameplay.
Zero-k is a great testament to the greatness of TA as well as the fanaticism of its fans. Still supporting the game 15 years later. The developers who made the original TA, would be blown away if they saw zero k. Supcom FA is a little smoother though, everything works now, basically a perfect game. When you put supcom fa next to zero k there is a clear winner. Oh god you are so right. Like not even kidding starcraft to me is just not fun in team games at all. But man team games in the aoe series is fun as hell. I am going to try aoeo again and get my friend to play with me like back in the day for aoe3. Literally all we did 2v2 and it was so god damn fun ^_^.
