Steelseries Xai with 9HD mouse pad. Pretty sweet mouse , and having the big mouse pad is great! Though it's a little expensive...

Stellseries Kinzu is supposed to be awesome too, go for that one if you don't wanna shell out cash for the laser mouse (Xai).

on sale for 60 bucks from Amazon. Had a $50 gift card from christmas I forgot about so it was pretty awesome.

I'm liking it a lot so far the grip fits me perfect. I haven't been able to utilize the 5600 dpi though, its much too sensitive for me

dpi is a marketing gimmick, lowering your dpi does not affect tracking accuracy.

i dont know anyone who uses higher than 2k dpi and i would consider accurate, although i have an fps background so most good people there are running 400 or 1800dpi- so maybe there are pro sc players running at 2k+ dpi

use 2800 @ 53% and play with 3k and low ingame settings in ql & UrT and 2400 with 6/11 in windows on a 1680x1050 screen .

shouldnt buy stuff for dpi but beeing able to freely adjust dpi from 100 to 5600 has some advantages and might even be somewhat needed on higher resultions..

I think the steelseries xai is a fantastic mouse and you can actually find them for really cheap sometimes (~50 bucks) I bought mine on sale for 80.
If all you're offering is Dos Equis, I will stay thirsty thank you very much.

I did not like this mouse at first, but its grown on me. The mouse molds like clay into my hand. It lacks shitty accel. Buttons feels supergood and are positioned well. Only thing I dislike about it is the mediocre scroll.

I've used the Razer Salmosa since SC2 release and it's probably the best gaming mouse I ever had. The combination of light weigth, medium size and high precision make it perfect for SC, other games and work / general use as well.

Recently, however, the left mouse button partially broke because a speaker fell on the mouse and so I started looking for an alternative. I was also beginning to miss the side buttons for the thumb for other games besides SC and for some programs.

Finding a new mouse was much harder than I thought. I was so used to the Salmosa that I totally forgot how huge and clumsy my previous mouse (MX510) and most other mice felt. I compared reviews of pretty much all current gaming mice and tried most of them at a local retailer.

Most Logitech mice are too large and too heavy (MX518, G500), forcing a certain position upon the hand instead of being easily controllable. Alone the G9x was interesting, but the thumb buttons' position and the high price are large cons.

From the other Razer mice, the Abyssus and the Imperator seemed good. Abyssus is very similar to the Salmosa, the Imperator has a very low weigth as well despite all it's functions. All other Razer mice were either too heavy (Orochi, Deathadder) or too expensive (Mamba). The Imperator isn't cheap either, though.

Roccat has some decent mice. The Kone, though, is similar in size and weigth to Logitech mice and was a no go. The Pyra (corded) is pretty cool, but I'm not sure if I could get used to such a small mouse and I don't want to spend 40€ finding out. The Roccat Kova seemed best both in size, weigth and features, but sadly I couldn't try one at my retailer and it's getting pretty bad reviews regarding technical issues.

I tried some other mice (Microsoft Sidewinder, too large; Cyborg R.A.T. 7, too fancy and expensive) and in the end it boiled down to three possible alternatives to my Salmosa:

- Razer Imperator. Cool features, low weigth, but high price

- Roccat Kova. Bad reviews, but interesting design and right size / weigth
[image loading]

- Roccat Pyra. Very nice handling, but unsure if a laptop mouse is the right thing for me
[image loading]

After some thinking, I finally decided on a mouse. I present to you my new mouse:

I got this SideWinder X5 for like $25 Canadian and it provides my basic needs such as a back and forward button and on the fly dpi switching. I also like the grip, overall I am very happy with it.

I run at 3500 DPI. It just takes practice.

Any reason you decided to pick it over the Abyssus? I have a Salmosa (Nada edition!) and it's the best mouse I've used, but from what I hear the Abyssus is an updated Salmosa.

- The price. The Salmosa is out of stock almost everywhere and not commonly known. I happened to find a vendor on Amazon that sold brand new mice with slightly damaged packaging for 20€, compared to the 30-35€ I'd have paid for the Abyssus
- The general feel of the mouse. I tried the Abyssus and while it's lightweigth and sleek just as the Salmosa, it has a more "rounded" shape compared to the "flat" shape of the Salmosa.
- The Abyssus' mouse buttons are curved at the sides, partially keeping the fingers in a certain position, while the Salmosa only has a slight dent in front for the fingertips, thus providing complete freedom as to the position of the fingers

But those are all just details. I had the Abyssus in my hand at the retailer's and was like "Size and weigth are perfect, but the feel isn't as good as with the Salmosa" and that was it .

At the moment using a Logitech M305.

But that brings me to the question, I love the feel of this mouse (small overall but not flat and has rubber grip on the sides) But being that I bought it only as a portable mouse to go with my laptop I am looking to get a nice corded gaming mouse now, suggestion for anything approximately this size and shape? I am thinking the Kinzu will do nice. Also anyone know where I can get a Filco keyboard? Or would it be more worth it to get the Steelseries 6Gv2?

Baah, can anyone suggest an alternative to my LMO(logitec mini optical), i tried the lachesis 4000dpi but its not soo good for FPS. i want a mouse that is quite small and lightweight like the LMO but then not too expensive. 800dpi is not that great on a 1680x1050 screen =(

i was thinking about razer abyssus, or something like that. anyone suggest anything like the LMO?

i'm using a 3 year old razer krait, which seems to me like the lowest level of optical mouse razer has ever built, and it leads to a lot of cursing every time i click on a single scv and my mouse decides that it wants to have a double click right there, which then leads to me moving my whole mineral line around the base just for scouting purposes, at which time hilarity ensues in camp opponent, or at least i bet it does if they watch the replays.

anyway, i don't wanna be a clown anymore, i wanna get into platinum leage sometime soon. i wanna buy a new mouse now. anyone has a tip for a solid mouse(should be a touch bigger, as i have large hands, and the krait is kinda smallish to me) for below 30 €? many thanks up front.
