I believe good vocals and music do well on digital more than albums sales or crazy fans. I think 4men sells very well in digital sales. And I believe Super Junior rarely does well in digital sales.

So I think the general public does like good vocals and music. But all the exposure idols get on TV kind of hides that fact.

And lol Kipsate, you forgot SNSD. And 4minute too, but they seem to be so unpopular in Koera, haha.

4 minute has 2 vocalists, gayoon and that other girl which i dont know the name of, hyunah sohyun and the other girl who is not the vocalist can't sing really well either. Also i didnt list snsd on purpose.

anyway my point was, you dont listen to dance based kpop for the amazing vocals, and thus its a bonus not a need to have multiple vocalists.

From what I've seen both Kara and Wondergirls can't sing for shit and at least Wondergirls have been at the top for a long while, if they got Gee would probably still to this day be at the top. That applies to Kara too, why not? You don't need much skill to sing Gee. Anyway people like us who look for MR do comparisons and stuff, this is the one obsessive percent, everybody else wants dem legz. Get some good jailbait going, get them half naked on stage doing some waves and shit, slurp durp you're popular.

me too but no one talks about 2ne1 here because they don't have the image that most guys like ^_^
their vocals are great, but most of their songs don't showcase it too well.

^I think it's because most of the time, they are more autotuned than anything and people find that irritating. Plus, they don't have an attractive style for men like us. But iirc, they have great voices under their autotune.

That's a shame =P I mean some of the groups that I see idolized here have sub par vocals compared to 2NE1. Music > Looks imo. Even if they have the image of piggy dolls I'd still listen to their music if its good.

Haha, hasn't Dara gotten alot better since their debut.

And to be popular you just need a good pop song and and good concept to got with it. Everything else is secondary. Even looks.

edit: Dara is the Sohee of WG or the Hyuna of 4minute, she's the eye candy.
