I have another test in 15 minutes, but then I'm free for, like, 6 weeks, lol. Excuse me.

My bad. I fixed that for you ![]() I was really sad to see Shady Sands banned, even by request. He's been posting some epic blogs recently.

TL sanctions the former and not the latter in alot of cases. As long as you don't string together swear words or attack another poster and specify the scope of an argument you can pretty much post prejudice you want on TL. I think profanity and excessive language does have a place in expressing the intensity of an opinion, especially an opinion that a person feels strongly inclined to express or defend, or an opinion that is qualified to have the degree of impact that excessive language carries. But unfortunately as with presenting any opinion in a public medium, the verbal content carries very little weight and the presentation is what people ultimately remember. as it should be. people should be able to express their opinions (repugnant or not) in a civil manner so that other people can tell them how wrong they are. if you want to change someone's "wrong" opinion then do so through discourse, not through bans. if you just want a circle jerk of the majority opinion, go ahead and ban them though, but dont forget to cue the theme song to 1984.

It's funny, I think that Liquibet sign makes people subconsciously respect him more even though it's not actually an indication of good posting or anything. At least it's like that for me anyway. Weird.

Heh yeah I saw that, but I mean more in general. Maybe its just me but I tend to think higher of Fenrax just because of his pretty little icon.

Or rather, if he has so much mod action hanging over him, why is he still considered such a "Quality Poster?" I ask out of ignorance and not accusation. For example, juicyjames, the most recent recipient of the star, did the research for and posted his "This Week in Starcraft 2" article every week for more than a year. yakii, the only recipient of two stars, updated the small vod thread for many years by posting links to every pro Starcraft game that was played in an organised place. There's no official award for posters who just consistently make quality posts. Perhaps you can just send them an IM thanking them for being a good poster? I'm sure they'd appreciate it if someone notices the effort they put into their posts.

It makes sense now. I thought he was a forum mini-mod or some caretaker or something judging by that icon and by his ubiquitous presence quarreling with everyone in every forum.
