Hello everyone who is a current viewer of the stream or just wants to start supporting an aspiring caster! I am the CatsPajamas (both literally and figuratively) and am said aspiring caster. Until the pros start letting me in their games to cast, what I want to do is build experience and cast YOUR matches. I don't care if you are low bronze or high diamond, send me your replays! Playing in a tournament? Invite me and I'll stream your match!
I also stream my own personal ladder matches. I'm not terribly good right now, but am devoted to becoming a competitive player and professional caster. So, stop in my stream, join the chat, and let me know how I'm doing!

Hey guys, just had my first night of casting last night, will be casting again tonight around 10:00 p.m. central. We took at look at some MLG Dallas replays to get our setup tested. A couple of minor bugs, but overall went well. Had about 50-100 viewers constantly thanks to own3d.tv's great setup.
Now, we're always looking for feedback. Thanks to Harmonious and Jovian who jumped in on our chat, gave us some feedback, and even sent us some replays to cast and gain some experience. Great casting there CatsPJ. I enjoyed your commentaries. They are very enthusiastic and entertaining to watch. You also provided great interpretation behind each side's intentions and thought process. This is what I think to be one of the most helpful tools to viewers around. Keep up the good work

Thanks to everyone who has been tuning into the stream. Peaked at 50 viewers tonight, and I believe that's a new high for a non-tournament stream. We had some great highlights. Thanks to many users for sending in some GREAT replays. In addition, I also had the privilege of casting some matches between some incredible professional players like ROOTDdoRo, TaurosPKM, Ryze, and CubonePKM. So, thanks very much to the PKM clan for getting me in on some great matches.
In other news, I have been picked up as the official shoutcaster for eleven gaming (elevengaming.com). I will be bringing you their matches both live and in replay form. Next, I will be working with a couple of other organizations here in the near future that I can't quite talk about yet, but be rest assured, we will be expanding the St. Louis Starcraft scene greatly.
Next, I have also established a presence on YouTube! Subscribe to my YouTube page at http://www.youtube.com/user/CatsPajamasSC2 I promise that like other cool YouTube pages that I will have sweet specials for different amounts of subscribers (I have something really cool planned for 100 subscribers, so GET ON IT).
And last but not least, I also am toying around with the idea of doing a KotH tournament completely hosted on my stream. We did an impromptu KotH style set of matches, but kicked around the idea of something more official. I think I may be able to pull together a sponsor to make a free to enter, but $100-$200 KotH tournament here in the near future. Sorry I wasn't on tonight folks, computer went down hardcore (basically AVG updated with a sweet update that causes your computer to crash every time you try to boot). Was on hold with tech support for 45 minutes, and was severely pissed off. So, SUPER MEGA CASTING TOMORROW NIGHT RAWWRRRRRRR. GREAT night tonight. Had 88 people, new high for non-tournament stream. Moving up in the world! Glad people keep tuning in night after night.
Couple of things, I will be live casting a tournament in the St. Louis area on December 19th (details at http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=174599). Also, I'll be doing some weekly tournaments for a couple of organizations.

Anyway, I have a couple of neat things in the works. Up to 40 YouTube subscribers now (head to http://youtube.com/user/catspajamassc2 if you haven't subscribed yet). When I get to 100 subscribers, I'm making a RIDICULOUS video! In addition, I'm planning on a set of instructional videos as well. I am a graduate school student, and will be off for the next few weeks. As such, I'm going to power level myself to above 2000 point diamond over the break (currently at 1400). As I'm doing so, I'm going to document the process and consult some of the top players for what their tips are to improve someone's game. There are many YouTube videos that say, "Oh, here's how you do this build," and several that review top players, but what I'm aiming for is a more comprehensive set of videos that describe the nuances of the game. Great late-night casting and commentary of (quite literally) EVERYTHING that goes on in a match. It's helped me get build orders and macro strategies, and I absolutely love getting to tune in for however long I can.

Thanks guys for the comments! By far the best night of casting I've had. Big shout out to SC2GG.com for getting me casting their tournaments, and that turned into a GREAT spontaneous KotH tournament where we attracted over 180 viewers at one point. Congrats to Hawk, a 3100 pt Zerg who not only won the SC2GG NA Weekly #18, but also ran about 15 games in a row in my KotH! Very impressive play.
Guys, on a side note, you have no idea how much all of these comments mean to me. Thanks very much, and as you guys continue to watch, I'll be there to stream.

I remember the night that i was looking for an SC2 stream to watch, and stumbled into CatsPajamas on own3d tv (now on justin tv) and i was blown away! It was so fun to watch some great players and realy good casting. He interacts with his chat alot while casting and still manage to tell everything and then i mean EVERYTHING about what is going on in the game!
Realy enjoying it and i will not stop watching this stream.

Amazing caster and everyone should watch! He casts differently than most, giving it a sports taste. I'm a very low player and I absolutely love playing in his KotH games and help him out with whatever I can. He casts ANYONE's replay, so if you want to see what you've done wrong OR show some great new BO or interesting way to play send him an email!
I highly recommend this stream to everyone! Come and watch and/or play! It's a wonderful experience.

Hey Cats, what setup do you use for the voice recording? It sounds like you are using a professional condenser mic and some hard compression or perhaps a limiter? Any plugins?
It's probably the best sound i've heard from a caster so far. I'm actually really interested in how you achieved the sound while probably not using professional outboard hardware.

Thanks! The mic is a Samson C01U (graciously provided by TotalBiscuit). I have a pop filter and stand, but otherwise it's just directly plugged in through USB.

Hey Cats, I've been watching you since your second week or so of streaming. You've definitely improved drastically since then. Sorry to say though, you've lost me as a fan. Last night you read something someone said in your chat that criticized you then you said "fuck you buddy, I have 2000 subscribers and you don't."
The funny thing is the criticism wasn't even that bad, all they said was that you were spending too much time talking about your youtube channel instead of focusing on the game. They said that you could talk about your youtube channel between games. If you get so offensive about something so tame, wait until you get a larger following and the helpful criticism turns into "hate."
I agree with the criticism, if that matters, you do spend too much time talking about other things during the game and sometimes you miss action because of it. If I were to add any other criticism it would be that letting observers into the game takes up a lot of time, they can watch your stream.
You seem like a very nice person, maybe you were just having a bad day, anyway good luck in the future.

I'd like to respond to this, if you don't mind. Yesterday was a big day for me. I passed 2,000 subscribers on YouTube which is something I never dreamed of when I started casting. Right when I was at 1,996, everyone in my chat was going nuts with "Who is going to be 2,000?" as I was going to call them out and thank them on stream. As the game was slow at that point, I decided to play along, as enthusiasm was high to break the barrier. So I took a temporary pause from the game and encouraged it. I know not everyone likes that! I do. But have you noticed that when I say things, like, "Hey, I'll call out each person who subscribes," and I all of a sudden get 100+ subscribers? People like the interaction. Same reason people liked when I invited them as an observer (which, I appreciate the feedback, and I agree with you, and have stopped doing so, as there's too many people to accommodate now). And that comment was, quite literally, the only negative thing ever said about to me up until this point about that interaction. Not even a passing, "Hey Cats, just wait until after the game." Nothing. I admit, my adrenaline was high as I was about to reach that barrier. But when someone jumps in the way they did, just throws out a negative comment that was poorly worded and then immediately leaves, it irks me. Should I have said, "Fuck off?" No. I admit that, and I'm sorry, but so many people hide behind anonymity, and I'm someone who likes direct interaction, and it set me off.
I'm actually scouring my Justin.tv to look for the clip to see what I exactly said, as I believe I made a comment about me about to hit 2,000, thus the reason for my comments, and not "I have X, you don't, so fuck off."
Nonetheless, I apologize for that, and will never turn criticism into "hate." I have plenty of people tell me "You're the worst caster," etc. That's hate. Not, "Hey, pay more attention to the game."
Please bear in mind as well that I almost never interact with chat and such during tournament streams. When I'm on my own stream, I'm a lot more easy going, talking to people, interacting with people, etc.

Other than Thursday night KOTH night I don't ever know when you are going to be casting and I doubt at this point I'm the only one who would be interested in you posting up your casting schedule.
Keep up the good work man - the last KOTH night went really I thought and was a blast even if I didn't quite manage to stay up for the whole thing (darn time zones!!!).

Thanks! I definitely want to have a schedule up as soon as possible, but it's very difficult now as my life is in a big transitional period. I'll have one up as soon as I am able.

Hey Cats, I was wondering what kind of "offline" things you use for capturing. Right now I'm using FRAPs/VirtualDub but I don't think I get as great quality as you (maybe the codec compression is what's getting me idk). Thanks again and we all know you do your best to take care of the fans so just ignore the haters.

I do use Fraps, but I record my audio file separately and then recompile. VirtualDub would be great with the right codec, honestly.
