This also means that kids feel like being a goalie is cool, they have idols to look up to. Now look at England. The goalie is always the asshole. Not sure how you convince any talented kid to put himself between the posts. And even if you do... there are no real idols, most of English goalies are more known for their comedy acts than for their goalkeeping. | ||

Peter Shilton was rly good and David Seaman was a solid goalkeeper. After Seaman, there was a black hole when it comes to goalkeepers, but then Hart ended that period. Football thats being played in PL is attractive and enjoyable to watch, but it lacks tactical depth to compete with the rest of the Europe. Alex Ferguson is a big exception here, and if England was smart, they should have based their national team on 90s ManU and the work of Sir Alex. Every other CL success from 90s to present day came from foreign manager/foreign players. | ||
