You should be satisfied that the Koreans have been losing. I don't see why you care so much about their reactions, which were actually very positive regardless of what you've been saying. None of us have actually seen the Korean casting of the event, so that's the last thing we can actually comment on. Nice try, though.

They laugh at hard ret tries and just talk shit about him and probably any other outsiders trying to blend in. They don't respect people coming into a team and don't take the effort to learn Korean when they learn some English and the westerners expect then to speak English to them. Well, that's kinda obvius, if you get invited to someones house, and hardly make a attempt at adapting to their culture, you come of as very rude. Shouldn't take too long (a few days at most) to learn some common phrases like: Hello, Goodmorning, Goodbye, Hungry, Food, Yes, No, Thanks and Please.

Morrow is getting some appreciation for his zerg play. Remember a time when everyone was like lolling about his race switch and losing during the learning curve, and lots of pro's saying he'll never be a good zerg, well, smears coal on the faces. ![]() Edit: Post 400! ![]()

![]() About the lag: FD posted on PlayXP right after the match was broadcast. He said the game would froze every 5 seconds or so for a second, not to mention the ever present and immense lag. He deleted the post soon after, which is understandable because it would be unseemly for a professional player to complain about it. Now, I know from playing other RTSs on NA servers that the lag isn't usually THAT bad. But some cross-Pacific Internet lines have been affected by the recent earthquakes in Japan, especially the ones going through Japan to US West Coast. So depending on which ISP you're using, the lag can be hideous at this time (different ISPs use different lines - from what I hear, Korea Telecom has a direct connection to San Diego, California, while LG Telecom's line goes through Japan). That's my theory anyway.

Maybe the semis/finals could alternate games on NA/KR servers to make it fair

"Really, I can see GSL being spreading more and more towards being global. Looking at TSL, and watching the players in GSL..Korea is a powerhouse in Starcraft, but I think in Starcraft2, that expression will disappear..Even if the reaction times were slow, the games themselves were excellent. In Starcraf 1, Korea dominates and take everything in WCG, but I don't see that happening in Starcraft 2. There definitely are players among foreigners that can win, just like the players on TSL today. Looking at Jinro's spread today I thought 'Wow..he's faster and better than MarineKing'. They're that scary and good. GSL having doors open to foreigners, I think there are some very skilled players appearing, which I like" "Positive affects of GSL players getting KO'd early in TSL: Foreign users can now feel like 'Hey, I can do this!' And in reality, it doesn't look like there's a huge gap like in Starcraft 1 to have words like Koretoss, Koreg, or Koran. If they do come to Korea, they might be a bit surprised by the Kimchimen's micros due to having no response time issues, but like Huk and Jinro, it's just a problem of adapting. But even in the micro department, seeing that terran spread marines against FruitDealer, I think things will even out real soon" :D! I agree completely. I think it mostly has to do with that EVERYONE has been playing since the beta started. Everyone has had an even playing field. Also; it sucks that there is such lag issues that plague playing online. Another reason the korean's will not take this tournament seriously.

The true test would not be in the next 2 or 3 years but the next 5 years. Western E-sports are extremely volatile and disloyal and filled with more drama than needed. If the e-sport road is more difficult than expected and most progamers are not able to gain good salary from it, how many of western e-sports players are willing to suck it out and endure the horrible living conditions and stick with the game as well as putting out the hours necesarry? We know the Koreans would do so.

I felt the same thing, morrow was definitely more impressive in game 2 and it made me forgive him for the sick sick banelings busts and taking out jinro. Im glad that there are some koreans that are starting to respect the foreigners. I still find it funny how koreans love thorzain haha. And no, its not too long! I had such a banana grin watching the MorroW discussion. I'm all warm and fuzzy now, so I feel ready and eager to go to work.. a rare and welcome feeling indeed. Team Liquid ♥♥♥

Out of the group of several Code S and Code A GSL players in this tournament, if I recall, only two GSL players weren't knocked out in the first round, MC and Boxer. I mean as far as the Thorzain vs Fruitdealer match goes, at least they recognised that Thorzain had some pretty good micro as Terran.
