Please do not post spoilers of any sort about the games in this thread. People are specifically directed to this thread to watch the VODs without any hints as to the outcomes.
Here you will be able to find all the VODs for the broadcasted games of the PokerStrategy.com TSL3. These games are anti-spoilered so you dont have to worry about spoiling yourself (unless you scroll too far down the page). However, YouTube preview images may spoil game contents and/or results.
If the video says "not available" it is still uploading / processing.

Will Team Liquid have a torrent to download the games like they did for TSL2? I found that system really nice to use because we didn't have to wait for youtube to process and buffer the games, we could download them very quickly and watch them at our own leisure (and not being spoiled by the internet thanks to the dummy files :D).
edit: oh wow I'm the third person to ask in this thread, sorry for repeating without reading
Appreciate the vod's very much but series that only go to 2 are spoiled after watching first game . I take it theres no way to just upload a 3rd set of just a standstill picture to avoid spoilers?
there is a bit of an audio delay. I don't know if this un avoidable with how they're recording or if it's in every VOD. I noticed it in the sen v fenix game 2. I appreciate getting all of these vods up so fast, and just wanted to mention the delay.
Great topic, I love the effort and speed of the production here. <3 TSL.
Nice games but man it was obvious Fruitdealer was lagging his ass off. Constantly having subpar reactions but atleast he had them, showing he was observant of what was happening but the units not reacting in time.
Who came up with the vod player ? A terrible idea to use youtube since you pretty much have to see the timer to be able to start the vod. Was way better when you could download the videos files for the whole series.
I had to tell a friend of mine where to find the VODs .. could you spotlight this thread on the main page please ? I think a lot of people would appreciate it.
(I know that it was easy to find this thread ... but not for some people ..)
I've only watched a single VOD so far (Prae.ThorZaIN vs TSL_FruitDealer game 1), but I've already noticed a couple of problems that may affect the other games as well: - the video looks too dark. I think your should record the games with a higher gamma value. - the audio is noticeably out of sync, probably 1-1.2 seconds late.

I have none of these problems so its most likely on your end. The only problem is that the casters are out of sync sometimes.
It's not just the casters if you pay attention. Effects like the marines opening fire or activating stims are clearly out of sync. You can also notice it when the observer moves from a zone where nothing is happening to a zone where a battle is going on. I have also the impression that the audio gets more and more out of sync as the game goes on.
About the video being too dark, I'm sure it's not a problem for certain people as they use different brightness settings, but the GSL VODs I watch never look so dark. So the people that use similar brightness settings are gonna have my same problem.
edit: the same audio sync problems are present in basically all games from day 1. The audio starts at about 400-800 ms behind the video and gets seconds behind as the game goes on. Pretty annoying.

I watched the vod again and youre correct about the sound. I didnt even notice it the first time I watched it so it cant be by that much tho! ^^

It took quite a while for all of them to go up yesterday IIRC. I am not 100% though as I watched it live.

I believe they were up around midnight CST (6 hours from now) yesterday.
EDIT: Also there definitely were audio/video sync issues for me as well, not a big deal though.

C'mon buddy, at least read the last post in the thread before you make a new one. Scroll up twice.

The levels are fine here. If your soundcard software allows then use the equaliser to boost from 500hz to 2k. Usually if your audio software has that, there will be a 'vocal' preset you can use. If not just download the vid and use a media player that has an eq feature.
It takes time to cut and then for YouTube to process the VODs guys. Yesterday all VODs were finished processing by around like 2 or 3 am EDT. Please be patient, I'll have this thread updated as soon as the VODs are up (I missed the last game of the day myself so I'm waiting eagerly for the VOD as well).

Maybe you can upload the first match when it`s already converted. Would be huge. Great work ofc, keep it up!

to all the people wanting and asking the vods to be up. TL knows how much we want them already... its not like they are staring at the video files in a folder going... hmm i think i might troll everyone and not put them up for a few more hours.
they know we want them... and they are doing it all as fast as they can with the man power they can afford. So thank you team liquid, your doing an excellent job.
Why is there a spoiler in the first minute of the VOD of oGsMC vs ieS-Ciara? If I hear correctly djWHEAT spoils the match as soon as it starts. + Show Spoiler +
Unless he is talking about GSL then I don't know what to say....

Might wanna spoiler that I think. I am sure there was no reference to the TSL because chances are you wouldn't post that after those games. Also TSL casters don't know the results of the games beforehand, and TL wouldn't lie to us

Yea I'm of the same opinion. Maybe we were just listening to the haters too much. The only thing that I've noticed is that whoever is in control of the camera is not switching the tabs enough (army, production, resources). For example, in the WhiteRa-Loner game the army tab was open for most of the game, but there were times when I would have liked to see production and resources. Other than that, great job!
Thanks to all the people at tl.net who are putting on such an awesome tourney!
Wow, I can't believe the comments on the vids are just about flaming Husky and the idiots there can't enjoy good games even if they were smashed in the faces with them.
Thanks Team Liquid for putting these vods so quickly.

Yeah I don't understand either. Husky isn't my favourite caster but there's nothing wrong with him. He brings up some good points and seems pretty knowledgeable, but some people are just never happy I guess.
Great games! I want to mention that I really appreciate the varying lengths of the vods,so that it's not obvious from the length of the video who wins. Not even sure that was intended, but it effectively creates some of the drama of a live viewing for me, so thanks!
The GSL has made me so used to only seeing the first game of each set. This is very refreshing. Maybe someday I will be able to bring myself to buy a season pass XD.
As I recall, previous TSL VODs included the pregame stuff and not just the game itself. I haven't watched many of these, but that material is really fun and adds a lot to the production as a whole. Is the whole thing framed like a show? If so, is there a way I can watch the whole thing without tuning in live at absurd:00 in the morning?
The production value in what I've seen has been amazing. All of the casters are spectacular. I'm looking forward to seeing them in different pairings (if that will happen). The games have been great, and I think the pool of players created by the qualifiers and invites is much more exciting than I expected. Overall, I've been slowly warming up to SC2 as the TSL approached and as the beacon of competitive starcraft 2 it has not let me down a jot.
The question has been asked several times already but since there hasn't been a response I'm going to repeat it: Will the VODs be downloadable in some way? Edit: The question might sound kinda dickish, but it isn't meant in that way

The first VODs normally go online at like 9 or 10 pm EDT and then the rest process after that, so it won't be long until the first ones are out, but for the latter series of the day you will have to wait a bit.

EDIT: @grieverEU It's 9:23 pm EDT as I'm posting this.
I'm sorry for bringing this up again, like I did on the first page, but why isn't TL making a torrent download available like they did for TSL2? I found that system incredibly good, you could get all the games very fast and watch them whenever offline.
The only reasons that I can speculate why they wouldn't do this is maybe for views on youtube so that they get money through their partnership? (this is quite a conclusion to leap to though imo, especially since they embed the videos here and iirc embedded videos don't register views)
I can't imagine it's because they don't want vods distributed, because anyone can simply download them off youtube.
All in all, I'm just wondering why they aren't doing the torrent service this season.

If you want to support TL for more TSL's you should just worry about watching the videos on their Youtube channel (and making an account and subscribing) it is all contributing factors to prize money and funding.
Its like asking someone to make more zealots when they build void rays 'cause you wanna build roaches. just make hydras, its WAY easier.
click the "Share" tab in YouTube. Paste the link into the browser and the DL begins. Why torrent when you get a direct DL? 720p, 480p, or 320p, they're all avail.
Silly 'ling 'lings. Hope this helps.
Anyways, when can we expect the VOD's for Day 3 to be up? I missed the stream and didn't see anything about the VOD upload times.
I did, however, notice a bunch of people T_T over how many times they've been refreshing. For those that haven't encoded before or uploaded videos, uploading take almost twice as long than downloading. My DL speeds are 2.2MB while my UL speeds are at a ridiculously, painfully slow 50kbps.
Unless you add &hd=1 to the end of all the videos you get the lower resolution versions when you download directly off of youtube, unless I'm mistaken.

Well the prize money comes from Pokerstrategy.com's generous sponsoring. As for supporting TL, I do have a youtube account and am subscribed to both of TL's accounts and I have watched all the TSL games on their channel.
However, that's unrelated to my question. I'm just curious as to why they aren't doing a torrent service when it was so successful in TSL2.
If it's anything about infrastructure, manpower or some perfectly reasonable explanation that TL probably has, then I'm fine with that. After all, as far as I'm aware, this is all volunteer work for pretty much everyone involved (except HB, Rich and probably some other guys) and I am very grateful to everyone who has made this amazing event a possibility.

Well because you can get them much faster (i.e. you don't have to wait for them to be uploaded to youtube and then processed to 720p) and I don't know if it's just me, but my youtube downloads always seem to be pretty low quality.
Hotbid and R1CH are both asleep. I wouldn't expect them up for at least a few more hours (maybe 3-4am easter). Raw 720p footage for 4 hours long is somewhere around 600 gigs. We have to compress that, chop it into vods, fix syncing, export it, fix any problems and then upload to youtube. It takes a while.

either way, they have to be uploaded. it's gonna take time. so you want them to upload and create a torrent, AND upload to YouTube. never encoded before huh?
Here's a suggestion. How about YOU make the torrent and provided it for the masses. You'll get a lot of love, on top of the fact that you'd be contributing to TL's growth AND the tournament. But i'm sure after 1 day of matches, you'll quit. That's if your PC and network connection is good enough to make it happen. VODs for Day1 and Day2 are already out. GL.

No, I haven't done encoding before, that's why I'm asking why there isn't a torrent. I guessed that that sort of thing could have been the issue, which is why I said I completely understood if it had to do with infrastructure.
You're still missing the point though, the main reason that I found the torrent useful was because the speed of getting the videos was faster. That's all there really is to it. It's no big deal if I just watch them on youtube, which I have done so far, I was just wondering about a torrent.

The bulk of the time is chopping and encoding hundreds of gigs of raw video, not actually uploading to YT. The uploading to YT takes a few hours but that's hardly the major delay.
I don't think I have to mention the importance of actually having content on our youtube where there's ads and stuff, but even if we did do torrents the end user would probably receive it around the same time. It wouldn't be that much faster.

Thanks for taking the time to address the torrent question.
And i don't think previous commentators wanted only the torrent system, we know keeping active on youtube is certainly a great benefit and gets TLs name out there in even a bigger way (despite being one of the best names in the field).
But the torrents were nice for people who don't have internet access all the time who cant just jump on the tube and load it up. I could just download the series, put it on a flash drive and have it wherever i go and whenever i have time.
Anyway thanks for all the great work and another awesome TSL.

Sorry if I missed it, but has it been addressed as to why torrents aren't being done this year? I really liked downloading the matches in the previous TSLs. Even if the videos were made available after the tournament that would still be a plus for me.
There are people like myself who like to save these matches on their hdd and re-watch them several times without re-using their bandwidth, as us kiwis have to pay for our bandwidth usage per GB. A torrent with all the matches would be nice, otherwise I'll have to manually rip them off youtube which is doable but a bit of a hassle.
PS, you can include ads in the videos if that is really the main reason for wanting them on youtube only.

I would love for the casters to try and contain each match to itself, it doesnt detract anything, and helps people who cant watch the entire livestream!

Great job casting though guys
Are you serious ?... That's like having the football commentators trying their best to not spoil the others match's results that are happening at the same time... Seriously aren't you going a bit too far ? You can't have the commentators restrain themselves for a match that have been played like 20 minutes ago. Argh.

Here are some spoiler-free links to the Youtube channel... if there was no game 3, I added a link to a different TSL match, so to save yourself don't preload them in other tabs or you may be spoiled by the title! Also, be careful, watch them in the order listed. Husky and Chill themselves may spoil the earlier games while discussing the later ones otherwise!

Turns out it has been a good reward to get home from work and watch the vods, thanks again for the speedy upload!
For example in the ret vs naniwa game 1, spending the first half of the game commenting on how effective rets drops are being. and how good his strategy was working, was retarded. Ret sacrificed soooo much money on unsuccessful drops, on EVEN mining bases (no economic advantage) and the commentators were singing his praises. PAINFUL to listen to.
Also nestea vs goody game 3, they speennnnt soo long saying nestea has this, he has the economy goody's base is dead blah blah. I mean was very obvious to me that a couple seiged tanks and his base was fine. But it seems the casters could not realise this.
I mean what level are these casters, I get that they have to commentate immeadiately as they see it but how can they be sooo wrong sooo consistently. Are they like gold and have no grasp on what's going on.
All I'm saying is use their brain a bit and don't be so eager to stick to consensus doing drops everywhere, splitting your enemy is good. But really look around if hes done NO damage and lost thousands of minerals in wasted units - ITS NOT GOOD!

You're certainly entitled to an opinion about the casting, but I don't really think the TSL VOD thread is really the place to complain...if only because you'll stir up a shit storm about Caster X vs Caster Y.
Also remember that not only are they casting the games as they watch them for the first time, but (for the most part) they have never casted together. Keep that in mind before you criticize, IMO the TSL has the best American casters available.
No offence but man the games inbetween Naniwa and Ret were really dissappointing... both did so many stubborn mistakes and failing. Not saying I'd do better but gheez in comparisson to so many other pro's I don't get how they manage anything when playing like that... everyone can have a bad day but I've been cheering for Ret for ages but it just seems he has subpar decitionmaking and most of the times he wins due to his enemy not responding correctly to his somewhat cworky strategy.
So Idra sees a 5 gate push and decides to produce drones? Really? He could have easily held that if those drones had been speedlings or roaches.
I don't understand what he was thinking, did he think that CrunCher was going to get a third? Reminds me of Boxer vs Nestea (Up and Down Matches), when Boxer did everything he could to convince Nestea that he wasn't doing an all-in, and Nestea just saved larva until he knew exactly what was going on.
If Idra just saved some larva, would have been an easy win.

crunchers build had especially bad timing and efficiency, The nexus had 1 probe mining from it for quite awhile, I was hoping Idra would realize there was only 1 probe and stop droning himself. Sigh indeed.
I concur with what people are saying, why the hell did IdrA keep making drones after scouting that 5 gate push? Thats why he lost.. Even tho Im happy he did seeing how he was treating it as a "walk-over" lol

Well I, for example, live in China were youtube is blocked and my VPN is almost always too slow to buff anyways. I can't watch it live neither because a) it is in the middle of the night and I work and b) all streaming sites are blocked except from livestream.com.
Idra's third game was, his play in the second match was really just extremely elegant and amazing. He should be more aggressive in the future - he definitely has the skills for it. It was beautiful to watch, and I was never a big fan of him.

I think it was overconfidence given his interview. I doubt he would have done that vs anyone else. He was probably just being cocky and Cruncher was better than expected. It does serve him right though, as much as I love IdrA.
Hi, when I watch these on my phone they always glitch out between 13 and 15 minutes, using both SC2Casts and Youtube. I've never seen this happen with any other Youtube videos, so I'm not sure if it's just an issue with the phone or the videos.
Thanks for all the hard work putting the tournament together guys.
Question though, I feel like I'm missing how to operate switching the various sets. It seems like half the time I do a click (yes even a fast click) on set 2 after the first game and it double shifts through to the set 3 instead of set 2 or tells me there is no more sets. It's kinda frustrating because it spoils the second game by default. I'm also horribly behind (currently up to day 2) so I assume there isn't a problem with them being uploaded yet.

Well, I put here a torrent with all the matches, but it got deleted. TL does not allow it for TSL. But the torrent still probably floats somewhere on the net.

I can only watch the first VOD of each series using my iPad. The right arrows to go to the next vod of the series does not seem to work. Can this be fixed?
Cannot express enough the great production values, intro's, etc. prepared for this event. Thanks to all TL members, casters, and others who make this such a professional showcase. It's been fun to watch.
It's up on youtube but not the official site? (I'm scared of youtube because I almost always spoiler myself. There's still no way to turn off all youtube comments is there...?)

Guess they will show up soon.
It will be up on the official site when the matches are uploaded in their entirety. For now I'm updating the OP here as soon as each video comes online.

It's because it takes time to upload, youtube makes the lower qualities available as soon as they are ready and as the higher ones takes more time to be processed becomes available later.
ok i guess you have re-recorded the replays for the vods.. (and even if you dont) wouldnt it be really cool, if you would take the camera perspective of one of the casters in the replay because oftenly they talk about things you do not actually view in the VOD. if you did not, or have a good reason why you dont do this, nevermind
p4NDemik do you know something about the third game of morrow vs hasu, because i collect them all in 720p, so it would suck to have one just in 480p ^^
VODs will be available at http://www.pokerstrategytsl3.com/vods once a series is uploaded, or you can manually browse our YouTube channel at http://www.youtube.com/teamliquidnet if you don't mind about being spoiled (no fake games, spoiler comments, etc) to catch the VODs as they are processed by YouTube.
MC vs. ThorZain game 4 not available? It gives me the message "No more videos in this set" when I try and watch it. =/
I'm not sure if the game is available elsewhere - I'm hesitant to look in case I don't see a Game 5 and know the results of the last game before I've even started.
EDIT: It was uploaded as I wrote this message. Never mind! =)
There will be cash prizes, professionally run tournaments, and broadcasting of the event with on-site commentators! If you have any questions feel free to ask me in our TL thread.
Hope to see you there
Mod Edit: This post is fine - was endorsed by Chill in the cast, so cheers!
for me too. I always clicked on the links in the lower right to get to the next one and im using Chrome, maybe its one of these, that causes the issue.
VODs for today will be a little delayed since I forgot to start the VOD recording due to djWHEATs antics, so I had to splice in a few seconds of a recording from the stream.
Great tournament as usual by TL. Im still very suprised we havnt got any torrent / files to download. Is it just to make sure I cant watch TSL on the train or in the plane ?
edit: Sorry if theres been an answer to this posted somewhere. I did search for it and couldnt find any.

I made torrent from the youtube videos. It is on piratebay.
They are not happy about it, but if you thank them under the youtube videos, they hopefully don't get mad at me
(1) It would be nice if you added anti-spoiler videos on the youtube channel. Going to the teamliquidnet youtube page, or even seeing the games pop up in my subscriptions is often an immediate spoiler. For example, series with only 3 uploaded games.
(2) Also, it would be helpful in terms of navigation if you added links to the next game in a match.

Hi I just registered to ask this, can you please disable comments on the youtube VOD's. On the game 1 the first comment under the video when I watch told me who won, which kinda made the whole thing an anti-climax. The streaming times are at an impossible hour over here, so the VOD's are my only option.

TLDR; please spoiler proof the vods.
GMT + 10 Says thanks
I'd recommend watching them either in this thread first (I apologize it wasn't updated in a timely manner this weekend) or on the PokerStrategyTSL3.com website. VODs will not be made 100% spoiler-proof on YouTube by way of dummy videos/disabled comments, but they will be available spoiler proof via one of the two mentioned outlets (the website is updated immediately after all videos are added to the channel and isn't subject to me being out of town).

Thanks very much!
I wasn't aware of the full non split VOD's available on the poker website.
. Did that happen and if it did, will it be uploaded as well?
I was at work so I couldn't watch live unfortunately
It did happen, I can't speak as to the status of it being uploaded to YouTube though, I think the guys are all relaxing and enjoying the night now at the after-party.
Thanks for getting the VODs up so quickly. I really almost stayed up to watch the finals at 3a on Monday morning. I really enjoyed sitting down to enjoy it the very next day after work. I would have enjoyed the hell out of it even if it were a lesser series. Mad props all around on the production value.
Well a close series no doubt. I found it amazingly strange that Naniwa + Show Spoiler +
in game 7 didn't bother to get any upgrades. If he had sacrificed purchasing just one colossus he could have afforded to get a forge and +1 armor, or a twilight council and charge....either of which might have allowed him the win.
That said it was probably just the pressure of the situation that kept both players from playing optimally. As it was I was on the edge of my seat for nearly every game!
Thanks for the VODs, dudes. Excellent job all 'round. I can't help but feel that Nani's normally immaculate micro sputtered a tad in the close-out games, but I can't take anything away from ThorZain. (Partially because he played game 4 of MC v ThorZain, which is the greatest game of SC2 to date in my opinion.)
Amazing play from all the combatants, and mad props to everyone who made it possible. You all have my most sincere esteem.
On January 01 2011 13:39 TL.net Bot wrote: So can we download the replays?
No, for a variety of reasons replays of official TSL3 games will not be available for download. Maintaining the name of the PokerStrategy.com TSL3 is not possible if we allow downloading of replays from the tournament, thus replays are not released. We cannot release the replays without relinquishing creative control of the tournament to third party casters who may or may not chose to properly credit sponsorship and tournament organizers. Keeping replays internal also keeps some level of privacy for the players who come up with new builds specifically for the tournament.
