Would you rather have the best players? or do you want players with certain styles?
I think my ideal top 16 would include some of the top players but without leaving some iconic players out.
The top 16 seems super hard to get into right now, with the top 16 being all A-, but I would love to see some old players like Eri and Leg.
Right now the only 'old' player in the top 16 is Yosh.
We already have JianFei, Draco and Brat in. Nony is also pre-qualified to play the #1 (Idra :p), so that leaves 12 others to pick.
I'm glad Yosh is there as I said and I'm also happy the Ukranian trio (Dimaga, White-Ra, Strlok) is close to qualifying directly.
I'm sure lot's of people want to see ret's performance.

I'd like to see F91 in the top 16, since otherwise he won't get to play at all. It would be great to see Eriador ride again, although I'm afraid it will be hard for him to make it against such tough competition. From my limited exposure to watching the foreign scene, I like Iefnaij, but he's seeded anyway. And Mondragon, of course: foreigner icon for such a long time.
edit: I'll throw some love to G5 as well: I have an impression of him as a pretty creative player, although I haven't seen enough of his games to really know firsthand.
That's 5 players (+ 2 1/2 more who are prequalified.) For the rest, I don't really care. It would be nice to see at least one or two unexpected names in there.

Dreiven: Fuck. I LOVE this guy. His PvZ is just amazingly sexy. He has this ability to provide awesome games with the top zergs. I'm really looking forward an epic battle with F-91 and Mondi so i really hope he will get back in shape and train hardcore.
Mondragon: Well you can't make the best foreign tourney without him. Arguably the best foreign zerg since 2004-2005. Mondi you have a monstruous ZvP and we all love you but don't be lazy and train hardcore because i hate when people don't play at 100%.
Fenix: Kid has some skill.
Strelok: Need more terrans and i have heard that this one is decent.
Dimaga: The last urkrainian on the list and that doesn't mean he is the worst ... Seems to be one of the zerg revelations of the last year
Scan: Cocky idiot but skilled. Lot of drama and bm potential too.

He will be my bonus guy. To be honest i could have also picked XiaOzl, Haypro, Advokate or Paranoid. Dinot Could have been a choice too but he seems inactive.
About the others qualified
I just hope that Draco and JF will be in shape because it seems that they had some periods of inactivity and as i have mentionned earlier i don't really like when people aren't at 100%
Also to be honest i would have prefered a TSL without reserved spots.
I don't think Nony will be able to beat the ladder top 1 nor the R3 because of the very same problem so that's why i didn't included him in the top 16.
On the other hand i think that Brat_OK will be in shape and playing his A game which is awesome because he is the terran with the most enjoyable style. Funky TvZ and sharp TvP ~
About players i want to be in the top 16 but who probably won't make it:
Naz and Leg: Old legends smashing the nerdlings !
Eri: MMmm Sexy style :D
Kenzy: Super nice guy who improved A LOT since last year when i used to obs him. Gogo Kenzouille !
Kwark: I'm not kidding. The amount of drama and flame would just be pure gold. Also watching him being smashed would be quite funny.
Oystein: Nice guy streaming and making rep packs for us TL nerds ~
Inc: i actually hesitated to put him in top 16 because he is definitly a strong player but well i had to make some hard choices. I will cheer for him anyway.
MisterZZZ : We all need a protoss clown.
Octzerg: A cheesy zerg. I think i would pay to see him beat Idra considering their history.
SarenS / MoMaN / AureS : If Kenzy don't get to top 16 i will cheer for those :p

Mondragon - "He once ripped a nerd's heart out and ate it; just for asking what race he played" -Tasteless. The Monster-Zerg, his overall knowledge of the game is insane and he is the reason why i started playing zerg ages ago, i would love to see him win the entire thing.
Idra - He's extremely good and i would love to see another round of him vs F91
F91 - His style is so extremely nice to watch, aggro-zerg!
ret - Ret seems like the greatest guy on earth, hella manner and extremely good, probably the best non-korean right now in my opinion.
Naugrim - One of the best, if not the best Swedish players right now, i hope he's serious about TSL because he can get far if he wants to.
White-Ra - The Manner Toss, it's impossible not to love this guy, his passion for starcraft is amazing and i'm always rooting for him in one way or another.
Eriador - I love his playstyle and he's been around forever, it would be extremely nice to see him go far this time, looking forward to see a lot of queen usage!
Hayder - Another Swede, i feel we didn't get to see what he was capable of last TSL, hopefully this time we will.
Morrow - Yet another Swede, he has improved a lot and really fast! it's so nice to see new young swedish players getting good at Starcraft, it was a long time ago since we saw this many great swedish starcraft players, he has a kind of cheesy style of play which i think will be fun to watch.
Sen - He was one of the best 1-2 years ago and then he disappeared, now he's back and he's playing Zerg again!
XiaOzl - I fell in love with his playstyle ever since i saw his low-eco game vs TT1 (i think?)
Dimaga - An extremely cool guy, manner as hell and of course, a very good Z player!
Honorable mentions
INcontroL - I'm not sure if he's gonna get top 16, but he's definitely gonna be around in the qualification rounds, extremely good player with a fantastic ZvZ which will come in handy seeing as there are so many Z's in the top this TSL.
Kolll - The new up and coming Zerg, he's a great player with ridiculous muta-micro, no doubt one of the top players right now, he may or may not be one of the top 16, i think his experience might be the only thing to hold him back right now.

I would like to see some more protoss/terran-players, anyone will do. Im a Z fan but seriously - ZvZ just isnt very entertaining ! Nyoken, G5, White-ra, Draco preferably

Kolll -> the german zerg i prefere over mondragons lategame ZvP where he does a 20 minute bunker. i usually go eat outside when he plays dreiven or o similar player. Kolll is the new blood.
A2 -> jaedong sniper
G5 -> TvP monster
CaStRo -> great all around zerg, from speedlings to great macro.
Yosh -> noobie basher
Draco -> old school macro
Dreiven -> 1 base player
and some others like strelok, xiaozi,dimiaga, sziky, incontrol, random swedish zerg or terran.

I would want a variety of different playing styles. Without further adieu I present my top 16:
1. NonY: NonY v.s. NonY would be a battle of epic proportions. Who would win? Him or himself?
2. IdrA because YOU CANNOT spell drama without the Ma and you need the I! He can nag just like any other mother, but we still love him for it.
3. White-Ra: he's our version of Grandpa toss and he knows how to bring the goods
4. JF: yeah, we know he's already qualified but hell we want him to be in mint condition to hold his rightful throne. That and he's fucking Canadian. I remember him dismembering Artosis way back in 2004-5 in a CW. He's grown a ton since then.
5. Ret: who doesn't like this guy? He doesn't back down from any fight.
6. F91 because he's totally baller
7. Kolll: fresh meat
8. Leg: REAVERRR. You cannot have the apprentice without the master.
9. ElkY: put aside the cards for once and show us you still got it.
10. Eriador: raw talent plus the strategic mindset? This guy knows how to play a good game.
11. Zelias: this American isn't a household name, but he was fucking good.
12. Grrrr: TSL needs more Canadians
13. Mondi: the guy never lost his edge
14. Sen: this guy used to rape everything in sight.
15. Mana: he's been around for a while, but his transcendence to glory started in 2007.
16. KwarK; Scan; Testie; etc. It's a toss up for me. Either one of these guys would bring a shitload of drama and I love drama.
Close but no cigar: A2, Yosh, Cloud, Fenix and CastrO. Anyone of these guys could win a match on any given Sunday. You cannot take them lightly.

I don´t really care as long as I get to see sweet games, so whoever qualifies has earned his place IMO.
I hope White-Ra makes it he is such a cool guy and one of the few protosses I like to watch.
Also Liquid-Drone /Eriador is near the top and he is one of the Founding Fathers of TeamLiquid so naturally he should qualify.

nah his terran is certainly up there but Raven, Tarson and Sawyer are all better T's. Now P? MistrZZZ is just behind Draco, Dreiven, Mana, sYs and DUnaj as best ever.
