I don't remember what the IPL3 threads were like but we'll find that out shortly. NASL threads are usually a lot of criticism towards the tournament because the public still has a negative view on NASL but there seemed to be a lot less personal attacks on other posters and the players/casters.

I think it's just a numbers game. A lot of people watch MLG, so if we assume that a certain percentage of community members are assholes, the more people watch the more assholes will watch. While the growing majority is usually not that vocal or "silent" as many call it those people stick out. Hence, shitty MLG LR threads. Also there's just more story behind every match. Heart beats Huk with 1-1-1, omfg cheesy Korean noob. People identify with Huk and it makes it that much more emotional than just two random maybe even unknown Koreans duking it out in the GSL. That's my two cents.

If i would guess,. Some of the casual viewer base don't care at all for Koreans, they like their home country heroes or foreigners they can relate to since they can speak english. Which is why the koreans who go to alot of foreign events and who try to make an effort to speak english become alot easier to relate to(MC, MKP, DRG). If LR threads have taught me anything people will shit on the player who is not their favorite for any reason, if the player would play a good game and win they would most likely call the race OP if it was a macro game, or if he did a timing attack/all in he would be called cheesy. They dont care at all for game balance
Another thing is time, MLG is a weekend event as oppose to GSL/GSTL which is a bad timeslot and streches for 3 ~ months. That kind of commitment will remove most of the casual viewerbase since it takes alot more effort to follow thoes leagues. So you will see huge increase in people who watch MLG compaired to GSL. Which would lead to the GSL/GSTL threads having more regular visitors of TL which is less likely to post nothing but crap in the LR thread
I simply belive that the ratio of the people who come to TL LR threads at MLG of Bad/good poster is alot worse than you would see in GSL threads for instance, since there is alot more casual viewers(because most of thoes who dont post shit dont post at all in this viewergroup). Which will lead to alot worse LR thread
