It's probably Naz's final say and a collection of feelings amongst the mods at that time.

Also, I guess hot_bid, like perhaps all admins, have database access where the names are changed directly, rather than through a fancy html form interface. Plus, saying that only someone else than R1CH can do something, is false by definition. I can't think of a single case where Naz or Meat has even tried to pull rank. Unfortunately all the admins are pretty reasonable, so it's pretty boring up top. :p And HB inherited his naming powers from Saro.

wanderer was just temp banned for 30 days by Manifesto7. That account was created on 2007-05-19 00:48:48 and had 573 posts. Reason: "Stop being a bunch of goth fags and just join the rest of the world already, ffs. Black is for bad guys and Bat Man." Nice post after a 2 day ban. Go elsewhere. Thank you. It's about damn time.

Brainsurgeon was just temp banned for 2 days by Liquid`Nazgul. That account was created on 2010-04-09 19:22:48 and had 36 posts. Reason: This + only one liners = go take a break. Have you read the 10 commandments? Does anyone else find this an odd ban? I didn't find anything really that offensive about the post... simply that he didn't like the song or the remix. He didn't personally insult the OP, nor try to start a flamewar. I've seen countless posts like this where the person disagrees/dislikes with the OP and no bans handed out. Perhaps his post history is crap one-liners or rubbed Naz the wrong way... and regardless its just a 2 day but just saying...

Pretty sure they'll ban you if you only post stuff like that.

While I did make fun of the words per post statistic thread, he's at about 5. Sometimes you just need a kick in the pants.

Other long-time contributor denigrates said project. Long-time contributor gets angry and flames back. Other long-time contributor takes a metaphorical shit on said project. Long-time contributor gets angry and decides to discontinue entirely voluntary project. Long-time contributor gets one-week ban. Something about that seems off.

Maybe not, but there was no doubt it was a very large overreaction to cancel a project that had a lot of support and excitement just because of 2 comments.

Something about that seems off. That's kinda an oversimplification of what actually happened... Rekrul was joking around, his posts weren't that offensive. NeverGG cancelled a project that many people had put effort into, regardless of it being voluntary on her part or not. I imagine it would have the same outcome if someone made a huge Beta key contest and got everyone all hyped then cancelled the thing after someone made a snide remark.

Something about that seems off. don't do this. there have been posts discussing the nevergg ban at length in the past few pages. even if you disagree, you don't have to be snarky about it.
