He makes a long sarcastic post and ends it by calling someone "comrad" Good luck looking for the explicit reason, as he cites the same reason as my other warnings and bans. Which I guess is correct, because those also had no clear reasoning either, like this little gem: "Keep your ridiculous bullshit out of discussion threads." That sounds more like a vindictive expression of bitterness instead of an actual explanation or... reason. Tree.hugger says I'm insufferable, which is also a rather strange reason. And yes, my post was very sarcastic. As far as I am aware, sarcasm is not a bannable offense on teamliquid. The comrade was a reference to 1984 by Orwell, which should have been made apparent by the references to doubleplusgood and ministry as well, but perhaps you've never read the book. I sure hope that referencing Orwell in response to statism is not a bannable offense either, as that would be rather... Orwellian. I also hope that making aggressive arguments in a forum practically dedicated to political debate isn't ban worthy. Political debate is not all flowers and roses... People sometimes employ satire, sacrasm, or make passionate or aggressive statements. So long as you aren't insulting someone or outright trolling, I still fail to see a reason for the ban. A thread discussing a proposed law that is up for debate.... is considered potentially open for political arguments, right? I've never insulted anyone on this site. I've done my best to follow the rules and put thought into my posting. But if these posts I'm making are really considered ban worthy, then I guess I just don't belong here. I'd have to see something actually wrong with the arguments I'm making to stop making them, so I guess I just won't fit in here. Oh well.

There's a difference between using sarcasm to make a joke or use humorously to disarm someone's argument, and using sarcasm to demean someone and their opinion. I will agree that for the average TL user, that post is probably not ban worthy, but treehugger's response makes it pretty clear the mods have been watching you pretty closely. . I've never insulted anyone on this site. I've done my best to follow the rules and put thought into my posting. Some of your posts are pretty brash though. Maybe you should re-read this thread for perspective: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=231975#1 I get the feeling that you rarely consider that your view on things may not be the correct one. But if these posts I'm making are really considered ban worthy, then I guess I just don't belong here. I'd have to see something actually wrong with the arguments I'm making to stop making them, so I guess I just won't fit in here. Oh well. Well by re-reging to get around a ban it's more than likely you won't be coming back if you wanted to. More than likely, had you appealed that ban to an admin, it may have been reduced. If you are respectful, the mods are usually very nice about this. But ban dodging is the worst thing you can do. -edit: mods beat me to it.

Was it closed for the season or was it just removed permenantly? It would be a shame if it was actually shut down ![]() Despite what it seems like, running that thread was really really difficult, especially given there was 3 of us at any time(assuming one didnt go away for holiday or any of that) With more help i could see it being really well run, but with just 3 of us running it at that time it was near impossible(esp with the amount of reports that started coming in after S2)

To quote something very relevant. 1. THIS IS OUR HOUSE You are our guests. We will make all attempts to treat everyone with due respect and to accommodate everyone's wishes as far as reasonably possible. But, this is a private site. We are not a "for profit" enterprise. We are not funded by any governments. This means we run the site the way we see fit. We are not obligated to observe anyone's notions of "free speech" or even "fairness." We try of course, and that's why we're consistently considered one of the best gaming sites on the web, and you are always free to give us suggestions (Website Feedback Forum). But, we have our limits. If we don't like you, we simply ban you.

We actually just open every new thread :X lol I found out from the thread about it: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=285473 O-o Risen, check the thread I linked in my reply to Ohwell/JD. While he may have not done one big thing, he has a history of ticking off the staff and being a jerk to them. Especially tree.hugger, which is probably why he was the one to finally pull the trigger. Not sure why his primary account didn't get permed, I would think ban dodging like that would be the last straw for him, but maybe the mods are reviewing the issue.
