Still though, I always get sad when a user with multiple thousand posts get perm-banned, it's such a shame to not fix yourself before then. (with the exception of Amnesia since he can't.)

I just stumbled on an article in the blog of my second favourite programmer (directly after R1CH) which i would really suggest R1CH to implement into the strategy forum:
Coding Horror - Suspension, ban or hellban
Hellbanning sounds so cruel, yet is such a clean solution...

I believe this was discussed already, and there was no reason for it besides cruelty.
If you temp ban, you have hopes that the poster will improve.
If the guy is that bad that you consider hellbanning, you just perma ban and get over with it. The mods seem to be pretty confident about tracking PBUs, so I don't really see how a hellban would be more efficient than a perma ban.

The misogyny in the SC2 Tourneys section is just ridiculous. The last time my class in school had a girls vs boys argument was in first year of high school (it was in the Philippines so we were around 12-13 at the time). Do we really have a lot of posters that young?
