Agree with the above. Dont see the banworthyness either. The post doesnt make much sense or is any useful to the discussion I guess but other than being stupid I see no offense. I guess it was banned for "low-content" perhaps?

I know this seems to perpetually confuse some here, but posting history weighs very heavily in the ban or no ban equation. Seems pretty clear that that factor figured prominently here.

If you're going to hate on Americans and do it rant-style, do it with follow up content? Replacing this with refugees and similar disparaging things said about them is left as an exercise to the reader. I don't know if the previous guy made it to eight, but you could at least copy paste in five.

Yeah, as several people have pointed out already, the post itself doesn't necessarily warrant a 30 day ban. His posting history + showing no signs of wanting to improve however weighed in heavily when deciding the ban duration.

Only problematic thing to me is that he was singled out among all the people in the thread who consistently post like shit but tend not to get punished for it because their opinion is less outspoken.
In any case, probably a matter to take to feedback if anyone wants to discuss it. I don't particularly want to do so.

If you create a thread in website feedback and link the posts that you feel need to be actioned, it would help us out greatly. We moderate as much as we can but threads under General, ESPECIALLY the US Politics Mega-thread, moves incredibly fast that most users get away with posting shit because it's difficult to find them.

At this point, because of a combination of saturation, the general shittiness associated with "taking it to feedback", and my disinterest in trying to think through "this is stupid but is this banworthy by the mods' standards or not?" I'm mostly just content to ignore people who I think are shitty.
I would normally also call them a moron but tofucake seems to find that to contribute poorly to the discussion so I'm out of luck there.

Everyone should have to provide source for their claims in that thread. If someone asks for a source and you fail to produce one in 24 hours, you get banned and the post is deleted.

And what constitutes a source? Because you can find pretty much everything these days because of the 'fake news'. Its something the thread already struggles with and because US media is so focussed along party lines its almost impossible to get people to agree on 'good' sources.
