Its 3 months later and im still baffled & amazed in all its glory. Anyone? no? i'll see myself out. It wasn't for that comment alone though. It was for that comment + 10 or so prior bans on that account alone, and countless warnings. Maybe we'll be impressed if you succeed in getting permed for a similar comment though.

Capped was just temp banned for 30 days by riptide. That account was created on 2011-06-10 02:49:02 and had 593 posts. Reason: Learn to talk to people. This is your last ban before perm. This was 7 bans ago, though he did get briefly permed before getting it commuted immediately after, so his short leash seems to be very very long.

Aren't you Aussies driving on the same road side than british ? If it's the case, then your post is really funny considering more than half the world consider driving left is driving on the wrong side of the road ^^ Tho I like the analogy very Much ![]()

Everyone driving on the same side of the road is undoubtedly good for the aforementioned everyone and deviating from it causes only pain. There are no sides to the discussion there, because there isn't even a discussion. Saying that everyone should drive on the same side of the road is a pretty neutral statement and it really doesn't matter, which side gets chosen. Everyone being a PC pussy is good only for those who want to live in a world everyone to be a PC pussy, it's a very partial position. I understand that it is not easy to comprehend from a point of view of someone who would like the society to be blandly uniformized - I guess you really think that you are going the world clearly a service when you take stance against people like Capped, where, in fact, you are doing a service only to people who have the same views as you do, not everyone. That's really a big and underappreciated difference.

That wasn't really where I wanted to take the analogy though, and it may not really hold all the way there. What I meant was more like: - If everyone drives at the same side, all is well. Right or left doesn't really matter. which is similar to: - if everyone have about the same level of "PC pussiness", all is fine. Super PC, or all out anarchy doesn't really matter, as long as everyone are fine with the level. Friction arise when someone is much more or less PC than the majority. Both of these situations are kind of "majority games", you want to do like everyone else. Thus, coming and accusing everyone else of picking the wrong option in a majority game is pretty silly imo. The same would go for someone going to 4chan and complain that everyone needs to be more PC. Then some people enjoy to go in and be much less PC than the rest of the community to stir up shit, but then you have to accept the risk of getting excommunicated. ![]()
