Either mods are feeling more lenient due to April 1st, or we need KwarK to come back and make TL moderation great again. Wow that's fucked up.

If we could quantitatively mesure a thread's quality, I'm pretty sure we'd find out it's below the General section's average, which would already be below TL.net's average.

Aren't more than half the posts in the General section done in the US Politics Megathread? I think the dating thread is more civil and productive than that thread.

The PUA thread was closed, and it's not allowed in the dating thread. Not that I particularly care, it just feels like TL is tightening its grip gradually with some weird kind of mix of conservatism and liberalism.

SK.Testie was just temp banned for 30 days by Teoita. That account was created on 2007-01-11 19:04:17 and had 9612 posts. Reason: Yeah this is really not ok, especially with your posting history, especially after you were just banned for your bad posting in the general forum. Take a month off to think about it. Testie with an unnecessary excessive comment. Kinda surprised he suddenly went to such lengths.

And I think in regards to PUA, social conservatives and social liberals would have a fair amount of common ground, because really opposition to it relies less on politics and more on 'once burned, twice shy' or perhaps 'many times burned...' Because every PUA that got banned, was banned for consistent creepy posts (some of the worst being the fellow that filmed girls without their knowledge, and then uploaded said videos without their permission.) Not only that, but the conversation consistently moves to 'what is and is not rape' which is ugly water to tread every day. It's an experience based aversion to a topic that brings out the creepiest sort of conversations and attitudes. I'm not sure that PUA is a bannable offense in the way that martyring= auto ban, but rather we've pretty much removed any location for people to talk about PUA... so I guess banned in a sense. We don't feel the need to house those sorts of discussions here anymore. It's a nightmare to moderate and it sucks to have a super thread always on the 'frontpage' that is consistently creepy, arguing about rape, and combined with weird psychobabble discussions analyzing women like computer programs who lack agency.
