It's a nightmare to moderate and it sucks to have a super thread always on the 'frontpage' that is consistently creepy, arguing about rape, and combined with weird psychobabble discussions analyzing women like computer programs who lack agency. This makes a lot of sense. It's not the subject, but the sociopaths that talk about it. | ||

There's no real way to contain it to reasonable discussion. There's some grains of truth in the PUA movement since there's a set of general male behaviors and a set of general female behaviors, and understanding the psychology of both can improve your chances at hooking up or getting into a relationship. The flip side is when people take these guidelines, attempt to turn them into an exact science, and then, since a lot of people who look into PUA haven't had much luck before and hence turn to PUA as an alternative, their insecurity comes out when talking to others on, say, a dating thread on the internet. | ||
