User was temp banned for this post. I was in the middle of writing a tactfully-worded post subtly accusing teamliquid.net of hating Avilo fans, but then I noticed the twitch meme (aviDoge is one of his sub-only emotes). I gotta start reading posts more carefully! Edit: Here is the ABL link, in case anyone is interested. As for the staff I can't say, but it isn't a stretch to say that most people who identify as Avilo fans may be subject to beratement and or sideways glances. In the court of public opinion he is a difficult man to defend. I am actually almost surprised mods would have recognized the chat code for an avilo meme thuogh. It's pretty easy to recognize a sub-only emote code. First of all, how often do you see capital letters in the MIDDLE of a word? Outside of programming languages that commonly use the camel-case convention, almost never. Also, the post talks about avilo, so it's pretty easy for someone to realize that "avi" is probably his sub-emote prefix.

I can assure you that we are definitely subject to beratement and sideways glances (tbh that's an understatement). I'll sometimes get attacked the instant I say anything in a twitch chatroom, regardless of what I said. Heck, it's even happened on these forums, although the mods here usually bring it under control pretty quickly. A guy who moderates the GSL twitch chat told me that he often sees people bashing me when I'm not around, which completely blew my mind. I disagree with your statement that he is hard to defend, however. Especially given the recent improvements he's made to his demeanor. I won't get into details, though, so as to avoid derailing this thread. Btw, just for the record, would that post have been ban-worthy without the twitch meme? Obligatory website feedback, but I doubt it. The ban likely means at least a meme warning in the past. I'm pretty sure the person who reported it put down twitch meme as the reason. Saves on time, I wasn't thinking about report reason tbh. Yeah man, it's easy to do that if you're not careful. I know I've probably given sideways glances to Winter fans before, which I don't feel good about at all. But yeah, as a community we need to all try hard not to do that to anybody, not even CombatEX fans. Every time we refrain from berating a fan of a controversial player, we are saving esports.
Since I'm ranting, let me also add that I think the LoL bashing needs to stop. It definitely won't encourage LoL players to get into Sc2.

Also, note that I'm not saying I agree or disagree with TL's policy on twitch memes. I'm not that active here so my opinion is rather irrelevant. Also I would post that in website feedback if I were going to contest that policy, but actually I wouldn't bother because I suck at making website feedback threads :p Dude, website feedback is the most lax of all the forums. You can actually post one liner OPs on there.

Seriously though, you should give twitch chat a chance. Most channels are pretty cool. It's only the major tournaments where chat gets really disgusting. BasetradeTV chat is pretty chill, in my experience. If you still find too much garbage even in there, try chatting in a smaller stream, say under 700 viewers.

I'm pretty sure the person who reported it put down twitch meme as the reason. Ah okay. Glad to hear that that was the reason his post was reported. Btw, just for the record, would that post have been ban-worthy without the twitch meme? Obligatory website feedback, but I doubt it. The ban likely means at least a meme warning in the past. Hey you like what you like though. I don't get it but I don't have to watch what avilo is putting out there or his stream and I don't nor should you have to defend your liking avilo. I am 99% certain I've given said sideways glances and jumped on people, likely after many many beers, but I try an be good and let people enjoy what they want to. You over estimate how much time I spend in Twitch Chat XD. I sub to basetrade and I don't even know those ones. Whut? You sub even though you don't chat? My mind is blown. Edit: removed twitch-chat-like all-caps word. I've spent enough time to warrant five bucks a month, otherwise, I think the pace is too fast for my own tastes. Sounds like you need to install BetterTTV, my friend. It allows you to blacklist both words and users. Add !guncheck, !partoufs, etc. to the blacklist and chat will slow down a whole bunch. It even allows you to blacklist users, by wrapping the word in (). Blocking BasetradetvBot will slow down chat tremendously.
Edit: Here is the link to download BetterTTV.

Personally, I've never been involved in mud-slinging a certain streamer or engaging in game battles (like BW vs SCII vs LoL). Each game has its own fun to be had and appeals to different people though the same person can still play all three games as well. Can't say much on Avilo. Never watched his stream but his reputation precedes him lol.

I thought there had been a cool ban seeing 17 new posts ):

Also, note that I'm not saying I agree or disagree with TL's policy on twitch memes. I'm not that active here so my opinion is rather irrelevant. Also I would post that in website feedback if I were going to contest that policy, but actually I wouldn't bother because I suck at making website feedback threads :p Dude, website feedback is the most lax of all the forums. You can actually post one liner OPs on there.
there is only one rule. It's always Kwark's fault. xD

I miss hating on KwarK, those were good times. "What is rape?" was actually one of the more amusing threads in TL history. Well, I didn't get the feeling that KwarK was very amused, but you can't please everyone.

Since when does TL actually delete posts (instead of just removing the contents)?

When it is relevant to do so.
