Purpl3 was just banned by Falling. That account was created on 2011-01-09 09:33:32 and had 1062 posts. Reason: by request. Who in their right mind would ask for a permaban? How crazy do you have to be to believe that asking for such is a good idea in the first place? | ||

It's more common than you might think. Some people have stuff going on in their lives and need to have a more permanent sense of leaving TL, others can't stand the community for whatever reason (seems to be purpl3's case--he was apparently pretty upset in KMD and requested the perm there). | ||

He knows how to argue, he has some controversial opinions from time to time and he's not afraid to present them. People who disagree with him on those opinions and are easily angered get angry because they feel they know why he's wrong and have no means of actually argueing with him. | ||

It depends... when someone is as established and has as much support as iNcontroL does, it definitely seems like that. But when you get someone who isn't as loved (for various reasons) it can be quite damaging, if enough people are vocal about their hatred. I mean a prime example of this would be Moletrap. It's true, Moletrap had (has? I don't follow LoL) his flaws, but too many people went overboard with it, and instead of offering constructive criticism or stating their opinion civilly, they chose to shit all over him, many wishing for him to get kicked out of his commentator spot and out of the community entirely. And it happened... When you get a bunch of people riled up and spewing bile all over the place, things can get messy, that's for sure. | ||
