This thread is for discussing recent bans. Don't discuss other topics here.

Take it to website feedback if you disagree with a ban or want to raise an issue.

Keep it civil.

NOTE: For those of you who want to find the actual ABL thread where the bans are posted. Please look in here: https://tl.net/forum/closed-threads/

Ah I thought serendite might have been ghostWriter when he was banned for being a pbu. But xero makes sense - fan of the same team, same country as well. And similar posting behavior, as others have pointed out.

Too bad we (again) lose a person who actually tried to describe games when LR'ing, unlike most other posters.

I am honestly curious as to how many people benefit from LRing in this time of readily available VODs. I would never read an LR thread when I could just watch the video. There is no expert input on what is going on, it's just like relatively simplistic book about what is happening in a movie. I feel like people do LR just because they like doing it, not because it benefits that many people.

Just like some people prefer to listen to soccer/football matches on the radio over watching television, so do some people prefer to hear/read about a match rather than view it all for themselves. I used to read a lot more LR thread (especially back when I had a crappy net connection) and I have enjoyed many. The live video feeds and vods have had a detrimental effect on LR thread quality which skews a current comparison.

I don't know anyone who prefers to listen to football as opposed to watching it >>;

I can understand the crappy net connection argument. However I don't think that applies to MOST people, or even that many. LR thread quality isn't the only thing that I am concerned about, it's their overall necessity.

Entertainment is not a necessity.

During the JD/Yarnc OSL finals I lost power and read the LR on my phone. LR's are useful when you're in a situation where you're not at a computer, don't have anything else to do, and want to keep up with games.

The banelings have not been making quite as good bans as the moderators have (especially evident during pages 300-310). Is this because of lack of practice, lack of cynicism, or do they not enjoy power tripping as much as the mods do??

I read the LR threads!
Lets me pinpoint down exciting parts since reviewing 4 hours of VODs can get kind of iffy at times.

The LR threads are a lot of fun to read and post in.

Plus, I pretend that it's helpful to people out there who can't access the streams (if those people even exist anymore lol0

The ban list doesn't show warnings.

...

Also banlings weren't even given banhammers until about a month after page 300.

what i'm saying is that page 300-310 have really entertaining bans; a real flair and extravagance for ban reasons. Recently has been pretty dry, is all.

Awwwww.... Every time I've been banned there's been a cute gif or clever comment or sarcastic list of quotes or image macro or youtube vid or... User was warned for this post

Jk... :p I'm most definitely not a pbu, even if my ip traces say otherwise.
